I've been very happy with the K class and curious how 1st grade will go. I have not heard good things about the 1st grade teacher though.

I have two children enrolled in the Charter Montessori program at Blue Oak School. We have been participants since the program's inception. I cannot give enough praise for the teachers and for this program. My children learn abstract and concrete concepts through the use of Montessori methods and materials. It is because of the materials that I feel they have a better grasp of mathematical concepts. They are encouraged to strive beyond the norm and not settle for average. Each child must meet the state mandated standards for each grade level, but I have found that they far surpass these standards. The only issue I have with the program is that it does not extend past the third grade right now. It would be nice if they could add on a fourth and possibly fifth grade class!! Keep up the great work!!
