My son attended New Brighton in 6th and 7th grades. We moved to San Mateo before his 8th grade year. Vito had the best teachers at New Brighton: Ms. Roster and Ms. Bridi for Humanities and Mr. Segura for Art stand out as stellar, inspirational instructors. I have taught secondary school in California for more than 12 years, and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and administration at New Brighton Middle School.

There is a wonderful atmosphere created by the principal and teachers which supports children learning, making their decisions and empowering their sense of self worth!

The teachers are very creative about exciting the imagination of the students, and they have been doing so on a shoestring budget.

NBMS continues to go above and beyond in providing a rich learning environment for students at all levels. The teachers have a passion for teaching and this comes across to the students. In hard budget times, it is comforting to know our school administration is doing all they can to keep cuts are far from the students as possible.

Hi I am a sixth grader at New Brighton Middle school, it is outstanding here and i cant wait for more grades. The teachers try to make learning fun and they know when we need a break there is even advanced classes for your child to take! I am in intergrated advanced math 1 and it is great. we are learning things 7th and 8th graders are learning and we are very high strung about learning new things. We always look for more ways to improve, almost every other firday we have a dance to end the week great! Go New Brighton!

I am a parent of a 7th grader at New Brighton Middle School. We are so pleased that we made the decision to send our son here. The principal has an open door policy and is always available by phone, email or in person all of time. He is responsive to the needs of parents and students. He sees the glass half full and shares his genuine joy for his career with everyone. He makes New Brighton feel like home. That is how a school should feel since our children are there for 7 hours daily. I can't say enough about the teachers and thier true dedication to their students. I have never once sent an email and not had a reponse within a 24 hour period. The teachers make themselves available to students well after school is out and their students are everything to them.

I frequently am on campus & have been diappointed in the level of respect kids give each other & how they communicate with adults. When asking a student a question like, 'Where is _____ located?', most of the kids do not even use complete sentences they just point or shrug their shoulders. It is obvious this school does not teach our kids basic personal interaction nor do the kids seem to know how to problem solve on their own such as saying, 'Let me help you find it or can I show you to the front office.' This has happened to me & numerous others over the years my daughter has attended New Brighton. I am glad this is her last year as it appears that private school is where we will need to be. The public high school continues on the same course of disrespectful and poor behaved kids.
