El Camino Creek is a school that caters to kids that are high achieving. There is great parent participation and lots of extracurricular activities. Recess and playground however is very poorly supervised and there can be lots of bullying. My child has attended for 4 years and has had too many days where supervision was not acceptable. This is a huge school for little ones to navigate unsupervised.
The teachers really seem to care about the children. Lots of extra-curricular activity. The vice-principal is wonderful. PE needs to be changed - it's more like recess. The school is too big. Communication between school and parents needs improvement. Very little sense of community. Too many kids to keep track of on the playground and too few adults for adequate supervision. It would be nice to see more PTA sponsored family events.
Great school, plenty of parental involvement, great principle. Excellant grades in state tests
My two children have attended this school for four years. We have had a positive experience with great teachers and lots of parent volunteers. The amount of extracurricular activities is countless due to the after-school programs.
My daughter attended this school for 6th grade and was very happy with this school.
El Camino Creek Elementary school is a wonderful school. We had three children in the school and we were happy with every teacher they had. The school offered many after school activities, including chess, band and gymnastics. The band program (through Artistry in Music) is fantastic and worth every penny. During school the kids can join Kids Care Club, which helps develop care and concern for others. The level of parent involvement is incredible. The teachers usually have a surplus of parents (moms and dads) to help in the classrooms. The parents help tutoring and are very involved in the PTA. Overall this is a wonderful school and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Academically Awesome! Most Teachers are 'Cream of the Crop'. Access to extra/supplemental activities & classes is great but cost is great, as in expensive. Parental involvement is high with the 'fun stuff' but volunteers & employees at lunch are low in number and low in ratio to students thus opening the door to discipline & safety problems. Traffic safety is of concern at drop off & pick up times. Parking for parents is scarce & overflowing at key time frames & times of year. The adjacent homes are 'boxed' in and narrow streets filled creating many 'blind spots'. Office staff not 'warm & fuzzy' but efficient. Principle is unavailable to resolve parental concerns. Principle is friendly & loving toward the children.
This is a very solid all-around school with active participation at all levels. My children are enthused and excited to learn in this environment.
