The faculty, staff that work for Ambler elementary school awesome! They care about the students, and offer excellent programs to assist with student engagement . I do not really like the combination class room setting : 4th,5th graders. I feel it is best if the age groups are separate.

I am a substitute teacher who, like many other subs I know, won't go to Ambler. I understand that when a sub shows up the kids are thrown off because the usual authority figure is gone, so they take advantage. However, these kids go beyond the norm. They are loud, unruly and show no respect. It makes for a long, stressful day.

I think Ambler is a great school. My daughter went to Ambler now my grandchildren is attending. The teachers are very attending to the student needs and if the students were to do all that is required in the class and homework "the students will grow by leaps and bounds." Different Culture involvement and the field trips are very educational. Small classroom size is always a plus. Great school!!!

My son is part of their ICAP program. In my opinion it is the best special ED program LA Unified has. I know there is an excellent magnet at the school and great parent involvement. I've have ovserved school activities and I speak with office staff routinely . They have a great staff, courteous kids, and a priority of providing a safe enviroment for their students.

My son just completed his kindergarten year at Ambler. The school is under the leadership of Mrs. Ellis who does an outstanding job of setting the tone and spirit of academic excellence for Ambler. The kinder teaching team is AWESOME! Mrs. Nakata, Ms. Harris, and Ms. Veceles are all very committed and dedicated to helping each child develop to his/her fullest potential. My son is very bright and I had concerns that he may not be challenged enough. The kinder team did a great job of dividing the students based on ability and meeting each child at his/her point of need. I highly recommend Ambler Elementary Gifted and Magnet School.

I have a son and daughter in Ambler. In my opinion, it is the best public school in the area. Doubt me? Take a look at the test scores for these kids at Ambler. The proof is in the figures, this is a great school indeed!

My daughter has been at this school since pre-k, she is now in the 5th grade. I have had many ups and downs with the classes she has been in. My experience has been the magnet classes get more attention the the regular classes. I feel the school focuses on the yearly tests given rather than learning the basics. If a child is not doing well in a particular subject, they do not offer any classroom assistance to help the child stay on grade level with the subject. The homework club is a joke, no one on assistance! Ambler needs to slow down in the class rooms. They have way to many children in each class also.

My daughter just completed the 4th grade magnet program at Ambler. This is her 3rd year in the magnet program, and her 4th at the school. I have been in awe at the wonderful teaching staff that these children have access to. Thank God for Ms. Fruedenberg - she really helped my daughter excel in the subject that she was struggling in the year before. Thanks to her and Ambler, my daughter is not a happy young lady!

We have two children at Ambler, one in pre-K and the oldest in 2nd grade. We are very pleased with the positive leadership that Mr. Downing, the principal, has brought to Ambler Elementary since Feb. of 2005. Mr. Downing has set higher standards for the school overall as well as the teachers. My oldest daughter is progressing very well in the Magnet program as well as my youngest daughter in pre K with Mrs. Savard. I highly recommend Ambler Avenue School to those parents who are willing to work hard to assist their children in achieving high academic goals as well as becoming a part of a positive and fun educational environment. Ambler continues to need more parent involvement and music and art programs. Kudos to Mr. Downing and his wonderful staff!!!

The faculty and administration at Ambler Elementary School are fast becoming the worst I have seen in many years. Things have gotten worst since Mrs. Bryant left. The faculty has difficulties with the students academic development and also fails to provide proper control and supervision over them. Unfortunately, the lack of control and supervision are evident in the classrooms, before the gate opens in the morning, on the playground and most visibly during lunch. At times, there is only one adult supervising the playground, and he or she is often caught up with a handful of students while neglecting the other hundred. Kids are often fighting, spitting, coughing or teasing one another. As for the lunch area, the kids are loud, unruly, throwing food, playing tag, jumping on tables or playing jump rope. Regrettably, the supervision s attention has to be on the distribution of snacks and desserts.

My daughter is in the 4th grade at Ambler and her teacher is Ms. Guerrero. Ms. Guerrero is the best teacher that my daughter has had during her academic career. I speak with Ms. Guerrero at least on a monthly basis and she keeps me apprised of my daughter's performance. Ms. Guerrero is dedicated to the academic success and performance of her students. She even stays after school and conducts study groups for children that are having challenges with a specific subject. I believe that Ambler is so successful because of the teachers employed by the school and the school's, principal, Ms. Bryant. This academic year Ms. Bryant has made some hard decisions regarding faculty, for the better of the school. I am pleased to see an administrator not afraid to make difficult decisions to increase the success of the school overall. I would highly recommend Ambler to any parent.

After doing much research, I found Ambler to be the best school for my daughter, a 2nd grader and my son, a 4th grader. Both of my children were challenged and supported by their teachers. Kudos to Ms. Fereidouni and Ms. Watis for your expertise, determination and professionalism. C.D.

My 3rd grader enjoyed his experience at Ambler Elementary. He even stated that he wish he could stay in the 3rd grade so he could continue with his teacher. Mr. D'Amico was an excellent teacher and related well with the children. I loved their program, Big/Little Buddies, it was very rewarding for my son. I believe that Ambler could improve in the area of parent involvement, by establishing a PTA. It is very vital to our youth's success, that we as parents, stay involved with all steps in their educational process.
