I am a parent and the Principal of Broadacres Elementary School shows Exemplary leadership ability. She cares about the education of all of the students under her leadership. She is honorable and reliable. She goes over and beyond the call of duty and deserves more respect.
I love having a school close to the house, but I am not too pleased with the school ranking. I have decided to pull my nephew from the school and send him to private school The teachers are wonderful but I receive more reports about his behavior (which is great) than I do about his grades (which are mediocre at best).
Sports very well done. Programs also leadership needs a lot of help.
My children attended this school from 1st to 5th grade. Some of the children are not the best in the world but they do have some pretty talented teachers. The best teachers are: mr. Comer, mrs. Doucette, mrs. Collins, mrs. Campion, mrs. Finkle, ms. Harris, and mrs. Mance. There are no music programs except for chorus so you'll have to pay for you little one to learn piano or some other instrument.
I am very pleased with the academic programs and support my daughter received from Broadacres elementary. In fact, I removed her from private school and am more satisfied with Broadacres. Something to note, my daughter had a tremendous learning disability due to ADHD (behavior problems). In spite of the daily fustrations both me and the school faced during this period, because of my daughter's behavior problems, the staff at Broadacres worked with us until this issue was resolved. Now my daughter is in regular classes and is achieving above grade level in some of her subjects. We're talking all in a one year period. This is truly a success story. Broadacres Elementary should really be commended for their efforts and dedication to the students. Every visit I paid to the school over the last two years was always pleasant and informing. Test scores were always reviewed with the parents. Thanks to Broadacres!
The school has many problems, but its teachers make it a great school. There are dedicated teachers like Mrs. Yamaguchi, Mrs. Lewis, Mrs. Collins, Mr. Gwynn, Mrs Finkle, Mrs. Mance and Mr. Comer that make learning fun and work hard to make the kids feel special. The teachers work hard to overcome the incompetence of the administration.
This school has changed dramatically in the last five years due to many kids coming in from other cities and the school has lost control in the area of discipline.
Dear Parents, One thing I really enjoy about Broadacres is the great parent support. They have a great PTO which brings in various outside activities for the children to enjoy. Both educational and fun I am amazed at the ability of the PTO to meet critical needs of children who are not exposed to different learning environments. I also was very impressed with the educational level for kindergarten and first grade. As for the other grades I can't say as yet, except to say I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Broadacres!
