Egrmeont is the best school ever!! You won't find a better elementary school for miles and miles and miles away. The staff/teachers at Egremont are so dedicated to help everybody out. The principles do so much for the school and to the community. The specialty teachers do so much to help the students by teaching them how to draw in art class, learn music, type in computer class, speak spanish in spanish class, and to learn how to do fun yet challenging activities in Physical Education. All the parents are so caring and helpful to the school. This school is absoluetly terrific!! The prinicples at Egremont are so dedicated that they help out at school, but they also help out in the community. I LOVE EGREMONT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Egremont is a superb school. I read some of the negative reviews, & I have to say, "Consider the source." When parents say that they had to pull their child out mid year, just remember, there are 2 sides to every story. Egremont works hard to allay any concerns a family may have.Egremont is a safe & caring place with a terrific nurse. Everyone's treated like family. All work together to benefit the child. Dissolving the PTA was a good decision. Many parents were "left out" in wanting to help plan events. That's why committees evolved so all could participate. When it was run by the PTA, many parents who wanted to participate were not allowed in, like it was some special social club. Now everyone has an equal chance to really enhance and create wonderful events at Egremont. You couldn't ask for better teachers, staff, and administrators. You can see there is mutual respect and all get along very well. When you have happy people working at a school, it carries over to the classroom.

I'm surprised to see a negative review. My daughter is in preschool and I love this school. I had my daughter at Rocky Peak before and pulled her out after 4 weeks, they were amazingly cold. Egremont is warm and loving. It's not easy to just drop your child off in someone else's hands and I feel complete peace with her at Egremont all day long. My daughter especially loves coach Brenda and her art teacher Mrs. Kahn. My husband and I did not intend for our daughter to go to private school, we can't really afford it, we enrolled her just for preschool so we could work but after our experience just this first year she's going to be an Egremont kid for life. She loves her friends, teachers and environment at Egremont - that is priceless to me. I also want to comment on the difference in parents, I hesitated with private school because of the type of privileged kids I pictured my daughter possibly feeling inferior to later on because mom and dad don't drive a range rover. That's not the case. This school is as diverse as it can be and very down to earth. We are sincerely happy here.

This school is not worth the cost! Beware, ask a lot of questions! There maybe specialty classes but because they are not properly staffed your spanish teacher is usually a sub, your science teacher also teaches 5th grade. The principle/Director/part- 5th grade teacher/board of director member, is wearing too many hats. Our family could no longer continue to give our money away to this school to participate in this experimental period. This may have been a great school at one time and may be an adequate school in the next 5 years BUT that is of no benefit to our children. My advice, there are many different choices for schools in the valley, take the time to tour THEM ALL, ask about everything from the teacher turn over to the length of time the custodial crew has been employed at the school. Leave no stone unturned. These are our children and if you are going to spend this kind of money on their education you should be getting piece of mind and your money's worth. They pride themselves on the 76years of the school but its really more like 2-3 years of experience of being in charge. Change is good, if you are in pre-school & have the time to ride it out, you MIGHT be happy.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE this school. It provides the academic challenge that we were looking for. It exposes the students to specialty classes such as Spanish, science, art and music, yet provides the individual attention that is only possible in a small class room setting. The administration and the teachers focus on the child as a whole and quickly address any concerns that you may have. Our child is excited about school and is thriving. We couldn t be happier!

This school is a great place to be! It continues to improve in every aspect. The leadership only wants the best for all students. We can not wait to continue our journey at Egremont!

NOT A GREAT PLACE ANYMORE !!!. Every day this school falls back and fails to meet the expectations of many of us. Our last Christmas party few weeks ago showed how bad the social problems at the school is. The principal try to keep order but still the school is controlled by few parents without letting other kids get a chance of fair participation. Favoritism continues to be obvious and remains a big problem. We are taking our boy out of this school the minute we get a chance. My advise for prospective parents is to stay away and find a better environment for your children. Thank you.

Egremont is an excellent school on many levels. It is a safe environment, the teachers are very caring, nuturing, but also provide a challenging education with state of the art technology. There are speciality teachers in additon to the classroom teachers. I like the fact that the administration has a strong background in education as well as business. Most private schools administrators know nothing about teaching, just the business part. At Egremont, the administrators really know how to run a school properly and know what the children need to receive a "whole" education." I also like the fact that the classroom sizes are small so the teachers really get to know their students' needs. I also think Egremont is competitively priced as far as their tuition.
Needs improvement, school is trying hard to survive. Ask around and you decide if this place is for your child. Read the reviews .

The faculty & staff work hard in providing for the children. It's a safe environment for ur child, one that nurtures the mind & being. Some teachers have been teaching in the school for more than 15-20 years. Some teachers were students who went to Egremont growing up. Some parents who went to Egremont are bringing back their own children. This school has history, depth & a quality you cannot compare w/ other schools. Small classroom sizes actually enhance the classroom experience, you should be happy ur child is getting so much one on one attention. Kids become confident here in this environment. From higher standard math, science with complete lab work for all ages, english literature and language, writer's fair, social studies related field trips, student council, giving back programs to instill values, anti bullying programs & presentations, musicals and instrument playing, art classes and learning about art history right from preschool, PE, pool time/swimming for the kids in the warm months, theatrical dance, hot meals in the cafeteria, amazing events. We are extremely happy in this school, Egremont has been the most positive experience for all of us!

This is our 5th year as an Egremont family. We have boys in the first and third grades. We've been fortunate to encounter some truly special teachers at Egremont. With small classes, our children have been seen and treated as individuals. Each has been provided with challenges appropriate specifically to him, because the teachers can do so much more for each student when the classes are small. We have always felt that they were safe and well cared for there, and we are very thankful that our children have such a positive school experience.

Egremont is an excellent school! This is our second year sending our two children there and we are extremely happy at Egremont. The entire staff is very warm as well as the parents. I am pleased with how secure the campus is. We love that there are numerous specialty classes. I see the academic growth in my children daily. The after school classes and program are excellent. The teachers and principals are excellent at communication and truly go above and beyond. This is not just a job for them, they truly care about all of the children and it shows. There are also some of the most wonderfully put on school events (Halloween at Egremont is amazing, Grandparents day, carnivals, and many many more). Every detail is thought of. My kids are excited to go to school every day. We are very happy there! We toured all the private schools in the area before choosing Egremont and we made the right decision.

All I can say is that my daughter has been attending Egremont for the last two years and loves it! She has flourished in this caring environment. The teachers, staff and extended day care providers are wonderful. I personally like the balance of acedemics and creative skills the school promotes. I head off to work every morning knowing my daughter will learn, play and have a fanastic day. What more can a parent ask for? I would highly recommend taking a tour and talking to other parents if you are considering enrolling your child/children. You will find a sense of community and family at Egremont.

Egremont has been wonderful for my family in every way possible. I give it the highest recommendation possible. My daughters absolutely love going to school every day. They are challenged academically in a nurturing and positive way. The teachers know every student by name. Their after school program is fantastic as well. You will not find a better academic program at this end of the valley. These children have Spanish, Science, Art/Art History, computers, PE, music and theatrical dance in addition to their regular schooling. The principals are loving and caring individuals who are very approachable. Parents are welcomed at any time and can be involved in numerous activities if they choose. This is our third year at Egremont and we love it!

Choosing Egremont is one of the best decision we have made for our kids. My boys love going to school everyday and is excited to share their day when I pick them up. We have been at Egremont for three years and we have always felt welcomed there. One of the main reason I am happy with Egremont is the parent involvment in the school. The Staff is very friendly and they all create such a wonderful learning envirnoment for my kids, I couldn't think of sending them anywhere else. We had an option of enrolling them in the new school which opened up in our area, but we decided to keep both our kids at Egremont because of the challenges they give the kids and the love and affection.

We LOVE Egremont! I don t even know where to start but to say all the below responses of positive feedback are true! I have sent my two boys to this school for 4 years now. I have watched it blossom and grow into an outstanding academic and loving environment for both my kids. This area of Chatsworth/ Northridge offers the opportunity of some very outstanding schools and I looked into them all. I chose Egremont because hands down it offered the best learning/ family opportunity. In EK they start Spanish and Computer! I don t know many schools that do this??? Science, Art, PE, and Music are also a big part of the curriculum. The parents are friendly and you don t feel out of place like some of the stories you hear at other schools. I m not sure where some of the negative responses are coming from. My advice would be to come see the school and judge for yourself!!! We d love to have you!

Hats off to Egremont! We just went to their winter musical program and it was beautiful. To see the care that went into planning this event, from the stage to the students performances was incredible. They had a Spark of Love theme because they were supporting the toy drive and even had the fire department come out to show the kids the fire truck and talk to them. They provided a luncheon for all of the students, and Santa was there too! We looked at alot of schools in the area when we weree considering and elementary school, and we are so glad we chose Egremont. It has such a warm feel to it and everyone from the front office to the principals and teachers are so nice and caring about our child. We are so happy to be with Egremont.

My son started in first grade .I can tell you ,It used to be a fantastic school until the change started in management level. We were compelled to pull our son in middle of the year due to repeated bullies. We tried our best to stop the bullies but management kept quite. Not only that as i used to pay in advance for the full year,i asked for the refund of the unused money they totally denied to pay back. They gave me the reason that i made the decision. The school don't care about how hard urned money they are zipping from innocent parents.I am now looking for advise from my attorney if i can get my money back that they don't deserve to keep at all.

There is not one school that is perfect for every family. The reviews for the most expensive and elite are mixed as well. The teachers at Egremont are incredible, but it is an extremely academic school, and I do not recommend it if your child has a hard time keeping up. There is concern that the decision makers have little experience, however, we are in our third year, and our child is thriving. At the end of the day, that's all that matters.

My family LOVES Egremont! We have had wonderful teachers who have been so kind and nurturing. The small class sizes are the best part of the school! The entire faculty knows every student by name. The education at Egremont is superior to any of the other local private schools and their test scores speak for themselves. They have Spanish three times per week, computers three times per week, PE three times per week and art is incorporated into every subject as it promotes hands on learning. As a full time working parent, I am unable to volunteer as much as other parents but my children still have pictures in the newsletter and feel just as valued as all of the other children. This is a WONDERFUL school!! My children can't wait to go to school everyday and it doesn't get better than that.
