Hats off to Egremont! We just went to their winter musical program and it was beautiful. To see the care that went into planning this event, from the stage to the students performances was incredible. They had a Spark of Love theme because they were supporting the toy drive and even had the fire department come out to show the kids the fire truck and talk to them. They provided a luncheon for all of the students, and Santa was there too! We looked at alot of schools in the area when we weree considering and elementary school, and we are so glad we chose Egremont. It has such a warm feel to it and everyone from the front office to the principals and teachers are so nice and caring about our child. We are so happy to be with Egremont.
My son started in first grade .I can tell you ,It used to be a fantastic school until the change started in management level. We were compelled to pull our son in middle of the year due to repeated bullies. We tried our best to stop the bullies but management kept quite. Not only that as i used to pay in advance for the full year,i asked for the refund of the unused money they totally denied to pay back. They gave me the reason that i made the decision. The school don't care about how hard urned money they are zipping from innocent parents.I am now looking for advise from my attorney if i can get my money back that they don't deserve to keep at all.
We love Egremont! Our family is excited to be a part of such a wonderful school. The teachers are great, the administration truly cares about the well-being of the students, and the staff is very supportive. We are proud Egremont Eagles! It saddens me to hear others speak negatively about the school, but every place has individuals who want to create a negative vibe. For us, and many others, Egremont is a great learning environment and we fully support the school. This year, more so than ever before, there is an increased participation in parent involvement and the activities available to the students outweigh any other program in the area. Field trips, on-site presentations, and student activities are wonderful. We love Egremont!
There is not one school that is perfect for every family. The reviews for the most expensive and elite are mixed as well. The teachers at Egremont are incredible, but it is an extremely academic school, and I do not recommend it if your child has a hard time keeping up. There is concern that the decision makers have little experience, however, we are in our third year, and our child is thriving. At the end of the day, that's all that matters.
My family LOVES Egremont! We have had wonderful teachers who have been so kind and nurturing. The small class sizes are the best part of the school! The entire faculty knows every student by name. The education at Egremont is superior to any of the other local private schools and their test scores speak for themselves. They have Spanish three times per week, computers three times per week, PE three times per week and art is incorporated into every subject as it promotes hands on learning. As a full time working parent, I am unable to volunteer as much as other parents but my children still have pictures in the newsletter and feel just as valued as all of the other children. This is a WONDERFUL school!! My children can't wait to go to school everyday and it doesn't get better than that.
If you are looking for a loving, nurturing environment for your child, look somewhere else. Bullying has been a major problem at Egremont for many many years now. Nothing is done to fix the problem simply because, enrollment is so low, the school needs every student's tuition including bullies'. Also, your child WILL NOT feel special at Egremont. In fact, privileges are given to kids whose parents volunteer frequently. Those kids are given main roles in the school play, their pictures flood the newsletter and the yearbook (to name a few,) making them feel superior to other students. Your child feels less important affecting his/her self-esteem deeply. The school is badly run; many many families leave every year. The class size keeps shrinking. By the time your child is in 5th grade, he/she will have less than 15 friends, way less!! This does not prepare them socially for middle school. I speak from experience.. Moreover, there is no sports, no specialty art class, no specialty music class (class was taught by one of the teachers last year!), Spanish curriculum is very weak and boring.. Definitely not worth the money! ZERO STARS
Let's just put out some facts. 1) enrollment is stated at 154, but it's more around 100 kids. Egremont is now down to a single classroom per grade. I think there are only 2 girls in the 5th grade. Very hard to develop critical social skills in very small environment. This school has seen a huge drop off in enrollment over the last three years. Because... 2) There has been three turnovers in mgmt the last three years. Last head of school vanished in middle of school yr. New head of school has very little experience and has engaged (my opinion) a purge of talent. 3) No sport programs. PTA was abolished by new school admin in favor of parent "committees" reporting to admin to ensure total control. 4) Board of directors consists of 2 or 3 people - one of which is new admin so it's basically (my opinion) a fiefdom. The teachers seems to be very good - especially at the lower levels, but there's just not much going on at this institution. Be very weary of the pretty campus, in my opinion, it covers poorly run institution. If you can afford this school, you can probably afford an extra 2k for Chatsworth Hills or a more robust system like Pinecrest. If $ no option, Sierra Canyon
My daughter attended this school, I have to say it is beautiful ON THE OUTSIDE. The inside is ugly. The administration is horrible, and unfair to parents and students. Parents are actually told not to talk to each other or there will be consequences. Imagine that, in the US not a friendly environment. The majority of the teachers don't even have credentials, nor do the principals. Look into it, or better yet contact the board, who they will not give you contact information to. Warning, look somewhere else, just because the building is beautiful doesn't mean it's a good school.
Proud to be an Egremont Eagle! Love this school!
Because its very good and safe school for this age of kids
