The oakdale independent study program is an excellent alternative for students who are struggling with the traditional classroom approach. The teacher on this program is flexible enough to encourage individual growth and success and firm enough to insure that success. The program has resources with the university, other schools, and the community to provide liberal studies and physical education. Parent have to be completely committed to the success of their children in this program as they are the primary educators. My son has gone from failing miserably in public school at a reputable school in our area to a straight 'A' student in this program. I would recommend this program to parents who are able to dedicate time and energy to their childrens' educational needs.
