My twin daughters have gone to this school now for 2 years and they absolutly love it. In my opionion one of the reasons that it is such a great school is because of the mandatory parent involvment. My daughter have in this short time gone from struggling to keep up, to exceling.
Our experience so far has been great. Our son is now in first grade and doing very well. The students, teachers and parents are all very involved and it shows in the students work and progress.
I am a former studen who went to Cambridge for K-6 and i absolutely loved it. Teachers are imformative and help with any problems with a subject you may have. Schedual fits every age group and is carefully arranged. If you excel in one or moer subjcts, you aren't shoved, but patted in the right direction to suceed in this subject. Overall, this school is wonderful, take it from a former student, and should be highly considered when you look through schools for you children. I believe that Cambridge does not point a finger and tell you where to go, it points out several ways to achieve and lets the student decided where he or she would rather go.
I have been a parent at Cambridge for 8 years and love it. The teachers are wonderful and always willing to help parents help their students do better. We have never had a teacher that was a disappointment. (And we've had almost all of them) The staff is concious of the students needs at all times and the parent participation is phenomenal. District budget cuts have affected some aspects of the school but probably no more than any other, but the basic learning environment has not changed. I would highly recommend Cambridge to anyone who wants to participate in their childs education.
So far we've only gone to Cambridge Heights for kindergarten, but I'm really liking the experience. We've compared this school with several private schools in the area, and academically, Cambridge Heights seem to be even better or equal to most of the ones we've looked at. There are lots of enrichment activities that the whole family can participate in, and lots of opportunity for the parents to be involved with the school. The music program could be beefed up more, along with the art program and pyhsical activity programs, but at least they exist and the parents are always welcome to get involved to try and create solutions if they see an area they would like improved.
My daughter has gone there for the past 4 years and absolutely loves it. Parents are required to work a certain amount of hours per year which is difficult for working parents, but it is totally worth it. The entire staff is very supportive & truly cares about our kids.
This will be our last year as a Cambridge Heights family, when our youngest son completes 6th grade it will be a bittersweet transition. After 13 years of parent participation, I cannot imagine a picnic, school play, or overnight field trip that doesn't include one of our boys. This campus has been an extension of our family, and I cannot think of anywhere else I would entrust my children's educational foundation. The small work groups allowed for additional support in challenging subjects, and the ability to work above grade level in those which came more easily. Each son found his strength- chess club, music lessons, worm club, drama club, community service, art and more. Fantastic teachers, flexible learning environment, and completely involved administration. I highly recommend Cambridge to any parent looking for an alternative to the traditional public school experience.
Loved the pod set up but thought the teachers needed to have more communication with parents on school work issues.
Cambridge is a great school, my son is in kindergarten and is having a wonderful experience and really enjoying school and learning. They have a wonderful reward system to boost the kids self esteem, and bring home a reasonable amount of homework. Their encouragement of reading and learning to read is really showing in my son. Parents need to be very involved and this is required at this school, a minimum of 36 hours a year volunteering is needed from parents.
Cambridge is a wonderful school with great teachers, like Mr. Burbridge and Mrs. Lawrence
