The academics in this High school is average, just what you expect and nothing more. It doesnt challenge you. It has a better then average music sprts etc. programs, with art, Web page technolagy and many more. There really isnt a lot of parent invlovement, but I am starting to see an increase in this section.

The quality of academic programs range depending in which academic track your child is in. Honors and Advance Placement track receive the best quality of academic programs, from support services to SAT preparation. The availability of music was very limited, since there were very few instruments and there was no stability in the department. There is a limited array of programs for extracurricular activites since there is stronger emphasis on security and music, sports, and art are not a top priority. The limited selection is there to fulfill the minimum requirements expected from students in order to qualify for four year universities. In addition, there is very little parent involvement.

This school is getting better. The only problem is the students can't work with the principal, there needs to be more involvement from both sides that will make it succeed. This school is also really terrible at extracurricular activities but the main goal right now is to get it out of the gutter so the main focus is academics.

I am an alumni of WOHS, and I honestly believe this school has great teachers who care. The college prep course and honors classes are very beneficial. The teachers are very helpful and challege the students to think critically. Unfortunally, WOHS lacks material resourses and at times, help from its own district. In all, WOHS will benefit from more parent involvement, in order for a better education.
