Just finished with our last child at Mickey Cox. We've been involved there for seven years. We had two go through MC and couldn't be happier. We found the teachers to be caring and sensitive to our children's needs and ALWAYS ready to accept any help from parents. The office staff and administration were absolutely the BEST! They know you and your children and were always available to listen to your whether your conversation be negative or positive. This entire group of people were outstanding in their respect for children, parents and one another. I've truly never seen anything quite like it. We couldn't have found a better school seven years ago. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of their community and know that between us and our children, we made some real friends at Mickey Cox. What a blessing!
My son is a problem child and his 6th grade teacher has been wonderful. Other parents say they are all about sports but they haven't pushed my son to do sports and they have after-school intervention for kids having problems with subjects like Math and Language. My son scores high on the STAR tests every year and I attribute that to Clovis Unified School District having great elementary schools.
My son has been at this elem. for 5 years and we have only felt that 2 teachers have really helped in providing proper educational needs. The focus is on sports over anything else. Lets face it how many professional athletes do you know?
great school with great teachers. my daughter went there for five years and I have no complaints.
I have a son who attends Mickey Cox School and I feel rather than all the sports they offer there should be programs for the children that need extra help in their school work. Because of the size of the classrooms teacher's do not have the time to help those students.
Both of my boys have attended Cox for four years. All of their teachers are dedicated professionals who go above and beyond what is expected of them. The school pushes the students to excel both academically and athletically. My sons third grade teacher would stay after school on her own time helping students who were falling behind and there is not one sporting event in which you do not see the Principal rooting on her students.
Mrs. Floth has done a great job so far. Technology is underutilized. Instruction is not differentiated enough for top students.
I think there should be more field trips at this school. Other cusd schools go on more frequent 'fun' trips that make school more enjoyable.
Mickey Cox is a California State Distinguished school. The programs are first class and the facilities are great!
