i am a cild at coalinga middle school, i will be in the 8th grade next year and what i see is not in my standard as a 'good School' for one thing the students are ounished more than rewarded in our school. if we do something bad or something we are not supposed to, we get in all kinds of trouble. but if we do something good, we dont get rewarded in any way except if your grades are all A's you get a sticker, a peice of paper with your name on it, and a penicil. but if we get bad grades they threaten you with summer school and repeating next year and contacting parents. i really just dont approve of my school, i feel i would get treating better if i got expelled and went to Coalinga Day School.

I have one child currently enrolled at Coalinga Middle School and another will be there next year. CMS has a new Principal this year and he is a lot better than the last one. He is doing a great job and I belive the school is about 10 times better since he has taken over the leadership. He is working to make the transition to high school much smoother for the children. The teachers are varied in my opinion. I have found there to be some wonderful teachers and some pretty lousy ones. Parent involvement is extremely low, but the school is starting Parent Leadership training this next year and is working to encourage parent involvement. CMS is a good school and is working towards being a great one.
