Columbia Elementary School

Columbia is the best Elementary School in Tuolumne County. The teachers are totally committed to the individual students learning experience and not just meeting curriculum requirements. All of the staff and many of the parents take part in the daily education of the students. Due to smart planning and saving in other years, Columbia was able to keep teachers when other schools were handing out pink slips. Class sizes are small, 17 -25 in most cases. My daughter has attended from Kindergarten through 2nd grade so far' and she has loved it. I highly reccomend Columbia Elementary.

It is a great school until 6th grade, then it really goes down hill. Local politics also play a large role in the life of the school.

We are a new family to this school after moving and this is our third and final school. We love the close family atmosphere, assemblies where students are honored and learn to encourage eachother.The principle and staff are so caring and have welcomed us with such an open door. Immediately we needed help with our child and they got him into a program and after 1 month his confidence and studies were so great! Though we are new, I can already tell that we are in the right place.Parent involvement is also a must and we stay very involved...so help your families, stay involved with the kids and the teachers.
