Very confusing. The teachers are all absolutely great. It's the students that won't cooperate. I would know because I am a student. The kids cuss, fight, and don't follow the dress code. Not the teachers. Peer pressure is a biggie at this school. Bullying is also a minor issue. The leadership class is awesome. Just work on the bullying and helping the kids be friendlier. People rate schools on appearances too, so work on redoing some stuff like the bathrooms, pod, etc.
My niece goes to El Dorado and the teachers are great. Willing to help whenever she needs help. Email a teacher about a concern you get the reply right away if the school is open and are willing to talk with you.
This school is terrible there are students that need help and they see them and they don't help them also there are students because they are on the football team they don't get in trouble and are allowed to do anything also the teachers teach way to fast expecting you to learn an entire lesson and get it the first time around they give you way to much homework and the library is only open once evey week and the lunch they serve you is terrible and not healthy at all
my school is best of the best I love it hear and the teachers are the coolest
my school is awesome!!! Its the most amazing school in the district, the teachers are great and the students are so nice!
At El Dorado Middle School the "inmates run the asylum" as in the 12 years old bullies and future gang members have free reign and while Mr. Humphrey is a nice guy you can't be friends with the kids. I am sure the kids think it's great that the staff would rather act like 12 year olds themselves but one day when these kids are sitting in jail I am sure they will wish they had gotten better leadership in their formative years.
I really enjoyed working with the teachers, staff & principal. 2010 and moving on to high school. Could not have asked for a better experience for my child and myself at this school.
great curricular program, fantastic teachers, great principal, and really cool kids.
I really love this school . All of the teachers are nice, the staff helpful, and the school is clean and everyone around is fabulous . But the dress code could use some work .
This school had the best principal and teacher involvement I've ever seen.
I think El Dorado Middle School has, for the most part, very good administrators and teachers. As with any school, there are a few to avoid. My child had Mrs. Score for 6th grade core, and she was outstanding- she cares about her students and went the extra mile for my son. What I have seen at El Dorado (based on my experience in fundraising and extra-curricular activities) are not enough parents that take the time and make the effort to get involved. Too many of the kids that appear to be struggling have parents that, from an outsiders view, don't seem to care that their children are having difficulties. Very diverse student population- ethnically, economically, language, etc. That in itself has it's rewards and it's challenges.
I am a former student of Walnut Creek Intermediate, or better known as WCI. Now I go to El Dorado, in Concord, because my family moved. Here are some positives about my new school: -family oriented -many different cultures -'real people'(WCI tends to be too superficial) And some negatives: -many student fights -many kids with poor grades(I have had 4.0's for the whole year so far, and I never had 4.0's at WCI) -ghetto The two schools are different, but wherever you go, enjoy it. This is what I had to learn. Both schools are good, but WCI has better academics. El Dorado is more real--real people, real problems. These schools are very different, but special in their own way.
My daughter recieved a good education in 7th grade, too much home work in math, but overall a good experience. I thought in calif. a child is to receive ten min of homework per grade, 7th grade should be approx 70 mins of homework, she received that much homework per class per two or three classes a night. She remained on honor roll with alot of help from me and her core teacher, and math teacher. A school can only do so much now a days, parents need to be more involved.
I personlly think my son could have done better a diferent middle school, the principle was very rude not to mention the teachers.
