I am sadden to say that Glenbrook Middle School is no longer a school. The district decided to close Glenbrook dued to budget cuts. Glenbrook "was" a great school with great teachers. Glenbrooks staff and Tesoro Refinery had a goodbye carnival for our kids and our community. So thanks to all for the best time. GLENBROOK WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS. Aloha

i am a former student at glenbrook middle and i like it. i have a good group of friends at this school. yes there is fights but doesnt every school have fights every once in a while?! as an 8th grader i really enjoy this school. after school program is fun it is called 'asp'. the uniforms have been good, we dont like them but since we have had the uniforms our star scores have gone up at least 20 points each year. overall this school isnt as bad as it seems. you should noy be afraid to send your kid to this school

The last administration from what I have heard were a very caring group of people. Unfortunately you do not see this now. Before my children attended this school, I heard the horrior stories about Glenbrook from people who live in the attendance area but will not send there children but I did not listen and I gave the school a chance. I thought if I was involved and worked with the school we could work together. What a mistake. I have wasted so much valuable time and effort with this school. It is really sad when you have people leading this school. They are belittling students, the sarcasim and snide remarks that are made to the students. I will say that there are a few good teachers there, but it is not enough, they need to change out the whole administration. Sad but true.

I have been at Glenbrook for 8 years as a parent and have mixed feelings. The staff and administration do everything they can to make the school a thriving environment, but the lack of parent involvement from the Hispanic community is alarming. The school has a high transient population and there is no stability for these children. The work expected from students is not at grade level due to students coming into the school without the necessary skills, and the staff must review with these students at the detriment of the rest. The administration truly cares about providing the students with the best possible education, but without the students having a strong foundation coming in, they can only play catch-up. Contrary to the rumors spread by misinformed parents, this school is NOT drug, weapon, or gang infested.

As a father of a 6th grader who was very concerned about sending his daughter to junior high, I want to state how relieved I am. I have nothing but praise for the entire staff and of the very hard work and long hours they put in. Their concern goes well past the requirements. I also am very pleased with the safety and security. There have been false reports of fights on campus, these satements are untrue. I am there every day and am very grateful to Dr. McAdam and his staff, he has done a wonderful job, especially in these finacially troubled times. A big thank you to the entire staff.

The only reason my son goes to this school is because the other schools would not accept an inner district transfer because they are full. They have no lockers because they found a gun and drugs in a few lockers. There is no parent involvment. The last PTA meeting we attended only had three other parents there. The test scores are horrible. This school needs a lot of work.

One of the most greatest schools in concord. My children loved it and it is a very clean school with no drugs involved that I've heard of. My parents transfered me out but there is nothing bad about that school. they have a great after school program call 'raP'. i would give this school a 5 of 5

Both of my kids did very well at Glenbrook. The teachers that we had are the best!! Some go above and beyond the call of duty. I had always heard negative things about Glenbrook, but I do not have one negative thing to say about it. And lately, there seems to be more parent participation, which is great for the kids. The music program is wonderful and so is the AVID program. Thank you Glenbrook for your part in my chidren's educational lives.
