As a former foreigner student (1971) at Meadow Homes I wish my kids could attend this school as it has helped me on my career. Ron de Groot - The Netherlands.
As a former teacher there- Meadow Homes has awesome dedicated teachers- with little to no support from administration or district. The current administration lacks leadership, follow through, and discipline. The students here are wonderful, and enjoy learning- but decisions made by the administration makes it difficult for the best learning to be going on, and are not made with what's best in mind for the students. I loved working with these teachers and students- but with the administration did not make it a collaborative or productive learning environment.
My daughter attended kindergarten (dual immersion) in 2005, and is now attending 1st grade (english speaking). The teachers are outstanding but the classes are overcrowded. This year there are 23 in her class (instead of 20). Last year was much worse.
My daughter attended this school this past year -Kindergarten. She was in the Dual Immersion program there and has learned a lot. I love the teachers and the curriculum for this grade/program, but was completely disappointed with the principal. I feel as if he has not done his job!
child attended kindergarten. too many students per class
My daughters attended this school for one year. I thought they were behind in a lot of areas. The school did not have many activities.
I am a former teacher from Meadow Homes, which was making a great deal of positive growth until the current administration took control 3 years ago. Prior to this, the school made so many positive strides that the staff qualified for a monetary performance bonus based on improved performance in the API index. Now with current administration, the school has gone from drastic improvement to a near failure. Excellent, motivated teachers have left and been replaced with lack luster replacements. The acceptance of mediocrity mixed with a high level of incompetent decision making at the administrative level both by the site administrators as well as the district is both unacceptable and deplorable. Please join in helping to move Meadow Homes in a positive direction by asking for the resignation of administration, as it is what would be best for the kids. This level of failure cannot be allowed to continue.
