I have been an Eisenhower Parent for 7 years. I have nothing but good things to say about this school, and its teachers. I have never had any issues with Mrs Trevino, but I am a parent that does not look for problems. Mrs Trevino is yes, a strong personality, you have to be, with this many kids and Parents. I think our generation of parents want life to be too easy for their kids, and like to blame others for their kids misgivings. Hey, my child received a citation once, but it the teacher had to be firm, and Mrs Trevino heard my child out, and so you have it. It wasnt life ending, nor was it worth causing the end of the world for myself or my family. Parents need to realize that maybe their kid isn't perfect, maybe our teachers are doing the best they can with limited resources. If you really want to make a difference, volunteer. To the parent that complained about not being able to go past the gate, if you want to watch your child, go to the office, get a pass, and go about it the way your suppose to. Rules are Rules, if you don't like them, go to another school. I hate to tell you, if you often have problems with people, it may be YOU!...
My son and daughter are excelling in their class. The teachers are involved and respond to you via emails or phone calls. Parent involvement is also great. LOVE this school.
When we first moved to Corona, my husband and I had plans to have our son attend Private School at Crossroads. When I got laid off from my job we knew we couldn't afford to send him there, so we enrolled him at Eisenhower. (his home school) SO GLAD WE DID!!!! The Teachers, Staff, and Principle are wonderful. I don't understand the negativity regarding Mrs. Trevino, but then I have never had a reason to have to deal with her. My son had been at the school 3 years now and he loves it there.
Eisenhower is consistently one of the top ranked elementary schools in South Corona. My kids had great teachers. I can, however, say that Mrs. Trevino has a bad reputation among parents, mainly because she has poor "people skills". I have heard from at least 5 friends who had run ins with her that she is belittling & condescending. Experienced that frist hand. Since most people don't have much interaction with the Principal, don't let this through you off of this great school. Just don't expect much from Trevino.
This school is Awesome! We were reluctant a few years ago to switch our child from private to public school. We are proud to say that we made the switch and our child loves Eisenhower. Our childs first teacher at this campus was very passionate about her role in our childs life. Our child immediately noticed the difference in the curriculum and said that he is excited to be learning more. His teacher this year is PHENOMINAL! The Principal Mrs. Trevino is very hands on and present in the classrooms and around the campus. WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL.....Thanks staff for a wonderful experience and influence on our childs life.
This is our first year at the school. My kids are in 2nd grade and 4th grade and we have found the teachers & staff to be very kind, welcoming, respectful and helpful. Its refreshing how they encourage parent participation and never turn you down when you want to help out. My husband enjoyed being part of the Watch Dogs too (what a great program). We feel blessed to be a part of the Generals and absolutely love the beautiful school. Keep up the great work everyone and thank you for excelling in preparing our future leaders!!! :-) two thumbs up
This is a great school! Not sure who you are saying is Rude, but you can not group the entire staff together. Everyone I have met at the school has been very pleasant. If you want to be more involved volunteer in your childs class. Or you could sign up for Watch Dogs and spend the entire day with your little one. A great way to really see what is going on at the school. I have volunteered for watch dogs and was very impressed on what I saw in my son s class and with the school as a whole. GREAT SCHOOL!
Rude, Rude, Rude, Staff !!! They need to get it together. Parents are not allowed past the gate. You cant observe who is with your child, and how your child responds to that person. This is not good for children with disabilities.
This school is a joke! Unless you are a stay at home parent that can handle your child being switched tracks every year and can handle new school hours all the time and minimum days every wednesday. The principal is rude, and the office is very unorganized! I want to switch schools but do not want to take my child away from her friends.
Eisenhower is a great school. Check out the test scores :) The school is not to be blamed for new school hours and getting out one hour earlier on Wednesdays(which will allow teachers time to collaborate) , that was decided by the district. With the state budget in such disarray the schools are making cuts including changing class sizes which in turn will mess with individual track changes. All of this has been in the newspapers over the past six months. If you want to make a difference in our school and your child's education then volunteer and get involved and you will then undertsand what is really going on in the school. Set a good example for your child and support the school!
