Im going to be going in to the 11th grade this next school year(2010-2011) and this school is awesome. In the past two years the drugs have gone way down and its just a over all good school.
As a member of the school site counsel for the past 2 years I can say the schools is a wonderful place for all students. As with all schools there are problems. Roosevelt's are minor compare to most. I have 2 sons that attend Roosevelt and they both love the scools. I have found the majority of the staff to be courteous and well prepared. The schools is on the right tract for 5 YEAR OLD SCHOOL and the students are well equip to move on. Great school
Extremely happy with the well roundedness of the school. It is truly state of the art and the teachers seem to care.
I have been to this school as an educatinal aide and the school is moving in the right direction. The staff is wonderful and they care about the students and what's best for them.
I went to this school from 2006-2008 and during the whole time I was there, me, my parents and other 3 siblings who also attended roosevelt, were stuck dealing with teachers who did not treat students with respect, out of control, loud class rooms and impatient teachers. This school also, in the years Iv been there, developed a very big drug problem. It was a nice school in '06 but by mid 07' there was a huge use of ecstasy, prescription drugs, meth and weed. Most of the teachers dont know how bad it really is. Every kid in corona knows how full of drugs roosevelt is. The block schedule drives most students crazy. Having to focus on the same subject, sometimes the same project for two hours is not fair to ask of teenagers everyday, every week after waking up at 5-6am.
Moved my son to the school from a suburban L.A. County school. He transformed from a D- student to a member of the Honor Roll. The block schedule is great and makes sense. I am seeing the results. New , clean and impressive campus. Looks like a university. I am hoping the International Baccalaureate program is moved from the other high school to Roosevelt.
The school is great and all, however certain things I see unfair. such as the sports. FOOTBALL and CHEER get everything. yes, it is great, I enjoy attending the football games, but other sports i feel are not appreciated. Also the situation of the library and crowded lunches.but overall the school is nice, but a bit boring.
I have to agree, the school is great the students and staff seem to all be shooting towards the goal of success. I do have to say that not only is band being neglected, the water polo team is doing very well, we are playing for a chance to finally go to C.I.F. Although we are no one knows, we are all athletes but dont get as much support as the others such as football, they easily raise money while we have to fight for every penny we get. Our uniforms which are our caps cost $4000 and thats for two sets we just need some help raising money and we need the support just like band and colorguard.
Very good school. But the majority of the students and staff have no respect for the hard working and talented band, colorguard, and drumline. The colorguard remains undefeated as well as the band and colorguard. And I dont know why they dont consider it a sport they do the same stuff all the other sports do: they run, do situps, and all the excercises. So what is the differnence. ANd also they are given little money to buy all their stuff, like transportation, costumes, etc. Please help them out a little more. Thank you to all the people that do care about these outgoing and talented students
As a teacher I have to say that this has a fantastic group with teachers who come from all backgrounds. A school is only as good as it's administration, and the principal, Dr. V, is not only an amazing leader, but also an oustanding team player among the staff and students. She keeps the ship tight, but it's all for the goodness of the students. A great deal of training is also provided and plenty of support and resources to students and staff to help everyone achieve a life of learning and growing. I couldn't be happier; so much, in fact, that my children will be attending when they are old enough. I'm proud to be a Mustang!
