My child has just finished kindergarten and we are very happy with how the year went! I volunteered once a week so I was able to stay on top of what my child was learning. The staff is very friendly, and teacher ( McDonald) is the best !! Very happy!
I can't say enough good things about this school. Overall, it's a great school that has a caring and competent staff, teachers, Principal (Mrs. Susan Jones) and Vice Principal (Mrs. Kathryn Jones). The teachers here are experienced, knowledgeable and quite determined to make sure that the students are able to reach their highest potential in so many different levels. They have awesome and very dedicated teachers(i.e., Mrs. Schmits, Mr. Magnuson who recently retired, Mrs. Ajemian, Mrs. Colson, Mrs. Sommers, etc.) It has a very strong community support which only makes this school better for our children. It is a "California Distinguished School" and an "Academic Excellence School" in Riverside County. It has a very positive environment which is why the children and parents love this school. But at the same time, "discipline" is a priority in this school which makes it an effective facility for learning and growing. We are so fortunate for having this excellent school right here in our neighborhood.
Lusenio K-8 - We have 3 kids in grade 6 and cannot thank the 6th grade Team enough for the wonderful job they have done. When the kids say they "enjoy going to school" that says it all. This Team has done something to inspire these kids that we have not seen before. It's just not the improvement in grades, its the growth in their confidence, self esteem, responsibility and respect. These teachers truly care about their students and it shows. Sommers / Webb / Palm - Team 6 Principal Jones also deserves credit for putting this Team together and keeping everyone inline especially keeping the kids safe during construction. Keep up the Greatschools work.
Its been 5 months into the new 6th grade addition to the school and my child is in 6th grade. The hardest decision was whether to leave her at Luiseno or have her attend Terra Cotta. There is definitely less homework at Luiseno than Terra Cotta. The environment in Luiseno is definitely safer for the boys, and the girls are not treated like date bait (like they are in Terra Cotta from the older grade boys).
Luiseno's faculty and staff have been nothing less than 'extraordinary' in the enrichment of my children's education and life learning skills. Their enthusiasm and dedication to the children, their education and well being is unlike any other!
A great place to grow. My family has learned and grown at this school. Wonderful teachers, and great friends who have like family.
The teachers and staff set high academic standards and work hard to give their students the tools they need to reach these goals. There is a strong sense of community and parental involvement which enrich the learning process.
The teachers and Principal care about the students. Parents are very involved in the school. My daughter loves it!
Great teachers! The staff works with parents to ensure our kids receive the maximum benefit from the curriculum.
I am a mother of 3 girls, aging 6,8 & 10. They all go to Luiseno. My oldest is in 5th grade and has never gone anywhere else. (except Crossroads Christian preschool in Corona)They love the school as do I. My oldest is in the GATE program and has straight A's. My second daughter got all A's and 2 B+ 's. My youngest is way above grade level. The teachers are great and the Principal is outstanding! She's very professional and on the ball! They are a California distinguished school. It's hands down the best school in the district. Our community is very close nit and friendly! Now I just need to figure out if I should send her to Terra Cotta or Lake Elsinore Middle School. My oldest has been accepted into the GEMS program there. I'm apprehensive about sending her there. It's in a rough neighborhood. Not like Luiseno.
In the past couple of years Luiseno has gone from a good school to a great school. They have some of the top test scores in the district, they have been named a California distinguished school and the staff goes over and above the call of duty. Both of my kids went there and they received excellent prep for middle school.
I have one child in kindergarten (1/2 day). I am very very pleased with the school. I volunteer once a week and really get a feel for the school. Parents are very involved, as well as the staff.
My child has been going to Luiseno for 5 years. I love this school. It has a tightnit community feel. My son struggled his first three years due to a speech problem, but each and every one of his teachers have gone the extra mile to make sure that he is involved and motivated. He is doing very well now, thanks in large part to the caring and personal nature of the school.
My son went to Luiseno for 3 years and we were very happy with the quality of education that he received. He was part of the Gate program and they chalanged him enough so that when he started Junior High he was more than ready for what was in store for him.
I attended this school and let me tell you, It is wonderful! The teachers are great, and really know how to teach. My little sisters attend this school now and they absoluyely love it. I attended this school kindergarten through fifth. The music teacher is great and so are the campus supervisors. I an glad that I attended this school!
This school isn't for high acheivers. The G.A.T.E. program this year has been a big disappointment for my daughter. I feel she is not challenged. My son is doing wonderfully in first grade with Mrs. Rowe. I agree, Mrs. Ramshaw is the ultimate teacher. My 4th grader had her as well, she cares! I think the classes being mixed [based on] learning needs is wrong. Separate the kids that need more challenging. It is hurting them by being mixed.
I have a 1st grader in Mrs. Ramshaws class and I love the school and teacher. My daughter has shown so much progress and growth. She feels important and comfortable with herself now. She has never complained about anyone picking on her. Her teacher really goes out of her way to help her students and the comunication is constant and helpful. Mrs. Ramshaw has been so great for my daughter as well as the school in general.
My 2nd grader and Kindergardener attend Luiseno (2004) and are doing pretty well, overall. I think that it really depends on each individual teacher and their ability to determine what additional teaching each student needs if necessary. I'm thrilled with the Kindergarden teacher, Mrs. McLaughlin! She's wonderful! I can't say that I'm too happy with the office staff, principal and vice principal, however. The PTA staff needs to be revamped entirely! Overall, we're very happy with Luiseno Elementary School!
