I had hesitations about this school because it seems to have a bad rap in the area. My husband and I were seriously considering Christian private schooling. However, in actually talking to anyone who's kids went there, they loved it. And... I couldn't find anyone with a bad experience. So, I went to their open house and to the Kindergarden information time and was pretty impressed. Now that my Kindergardener and pre-schooler have completed one full year there, I can tell you, I'm very very happy I made the choice to take them there. The teachers are incredible. The principal is awesome, and the office staff are great. Sure they would've gotten more God education at a private school, but I can do that at church and at home. As far as academics, team building and learning what school is supposed to be for, Sonora is 5 out of 5 stars.

Our 2 children attend Sonora and we love it. Our youngest son is in 1st grade and reading at a 5th grade level with 98% accuracy in reading comprehension. Our oldest son is challenged daily by being grouped with peers at his academic level. Sonora also has a great parent group and fabulous teachers who really care about academic excellence. Additionally, our school is special because we are 1 of 6 OC Arts Connect Schools. The OC Performing Arts Center works with our teachers and parents to infuse visual arts and music into the core curriculum. Our kids are lucky to receive such a well rounded curriculum. Come to an open house or tour the school and see for yourself. Our school creed says it best, 'As a Sonora School Eagle I will soar!'

Sonora is a wonderful school with good leadership, excellent teaching and impressive students. There PTA is dedicated to improving the overall quality of the Sonora Elementary school experience and extracurriculary activities are available to students. I wouldn't have my son enrolled any where else. Sonora was my family's first pick....we were lucky to be granted and intradistrict transfer to attend there.

I have had my kids at Sonora for 3 years now and have been very happy with the school. We transferred from a private school to this school because the quality of the teachers is phenomenal.I firmly believe that my kids are getting the best education that is available in this area. The various extracurricular activities are an added bonus for them.

Sonora is a terrific school. I sent my child there for k - 3 grade. The teachers are all highly qualified, the principal is an instructional leader, and the support staff is compassionate and highly competent. Sonora is really a wonderful community school. The parents are fully engaged in their children's education. The diversity of the students is a plus. Sonora has wonderful arts programs for its students, from ArtsConnect a collaborative effort with OCPAC to the music teacher. Sonora students are receiving excellent instruction in all the core subjects as well as those areas which improve their lives.

Sonora is a very good school. The teachers are very qualified and are very caring for the needs of the children. The staff do a great job making sure the kids are safe and have fun during recess and lunch. The school is truley a family type atmosphere. The pta is extremely involved and have several fun fundraisers throughtout the year. Both of my children are receiving quality education and their personal test scores were well above 800. I highly recommend this school and if it your families home school, count yourself lucky and send your kids here!

I was really disappointed with Sonora's program and teachers. I plan to enroll my kids in a christian private school...and we are Buddhist!

Sonora Elementary is the best in the area. The teachers and administrators work extremely hard to provide a quality education. This school has been one of the top schools in the state. The PTA is extremely involved in providing a attractive and fun campus. The teachers provide an incredible learning environment for our children. I have had children there for six years, and would highly recomend this school.
