The statistics on Great Schools is out of date. The principal is Bob Sladek and there are closer to 24 students per class and the diversity must be wrong. There is a big mix of ethnicity and economic levels. The teachers are very nurturing and well balanced with teaching the whole child. The students are very prepared for high school. We are only in 2nd grade but are very happy so far. Our daughter loves learning at MCS.

I would agree with the reviews of the school lacking in diversity yes very true and also lots of drama great for the average child not advanced or needing help and even then lots of average kids needing tutoring. Was a great school past several years has gone down hill lots of staff turn over lots of drama noting special here not the bill of goods being sold wish they were more honest but they won't tell you the truth if they did you would enroll elsewhere

MCS has great facility to accommodate children for learning. Unfortunately 96% of students are white children and 1% of other ethnicity in this diversified neighbors. Even with teacher and pastors recommendation letters admission directors will not favor you if you are a minority. MCS should take the (Christian) word out of school name to fit the school profile.

The school is just average I have had a more diversified experience at other private school. Yes many of the children lack in kindness and the teachers seems not to address these issues. They also lack the attention to children who need a little extra help academically or those who are advanced as they are sucked up by lots of kid drama. Being in the classroom has enlightened me to many of the shortcomings of this school not the school we were sold. Not bad, every school has their issues just not what were were expecting or promised.

My family has had the best experience at Mariners Christian School for the past 2 years. My son has excelled in reading and math, and his knowledge of our Lord. We have connected with so many families at MCS, and have also grown in our faith and love in our Lord! As far as "bullying and mean girls," MCS has addressed incidents last year and this year by teachers and by the principal. I know this for a fact, my son keeps me informed. My son has never encountered this behavior, but he did learn about it at Chapel a couple of Fridays ago. We are involved with our kids, teachers and other families, so we are always on top of things. We love MCS, and would recommend it to anyone!

MCS is a wonderful learning environment! Every teacher is amazing, and the Christ-centered curriculum is priceless in character development! The family involvement is unmatched, and the values of many of the families truly revolve around a Christian lifestyle. We couldn't be happier with this school!

Mariner's is a great school. They are very caring about all the students and truly embrace the whole child and the entire learning experience. You are greeeted by a smiling staff everyone morning and the principal stands at carpool and waves good bye to the children every afternoon. It's a great school!

My son attended Mariners for 9 years. It was a wonderful experience. The teachers really do care about the children!! There was a tremendous amount of family involvement. A lot of the families have established relationships so you sometimes feel like an outsider. Teaching of God's word and living it out by the staff is stellar!

MCS is an amazing school. So much love, thought, care, and knowledge goes into planning the teaching curriculum and is further extended to each student personally. I graduated in 1999 and not only did I have more knowledge on subjects once I hit high school, but the friendships that I formed with my classmates and teachers are still greatly in tact and I am now ending my freshman year at a Christian College. MCS played such a big part in my life that I have gone back to coach sport teams that I once excelled on and to help out in the daycare that once helped me. Their excitement to find out how you are doing now and/or how they can improve is like no other school I have ever known or even heard of.

Our daughter, Kristin, attended MCS from 2nd-8th grade and received a superb academic, moral and Christian education. She was taught how to study, write exceptionally and work hard. She also was taught to be a caring individual with excellent moral values. It was great to see our home values carried over in the school setting. The middle school/Junior High Faculty were excellent in all areas of life's learning. Kristin was well prepared for life in the 'real world' of public high school and is now doing very well at University of California at Berkeley - Many thanks to Mrs. Letterman, Mr. Jones, Mrs. Wilder, Ms. Tulley and all the other many special and excellent teachers and people at Mariners Christian School - Our child is now a successful, happy and fulfilled young adult with very high moral standards that are also a part of our home.

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
