Truly disappointing school, most of the teachers are cold and use embarrassment as a tool to discipline kids. I've seen teachers scream at kids in front of other parents, the Principal doesn't do anything and has a major attitude problem, he has unnecessary rules in school. The kids are overloaded with homework. The Principal will not take any suggestions and is not flexible enough to listen to parents. The teaching style is one size fits all approach, but if your child needs any individual approach, that kid will go through immense pressure and torture rules in school.
This is a good school with great academics if that's what your priority is. The teachers and principal are dedicated. Because there is very little ethnic diversity here this may not be the best choice for every family and may not meet the social needs of all children. There are other alternatives in Cupertino.
OK, This School might be good for parents who wants their kids to be pushed to the limit and have the child dread going to the school, There is no overall development for the kids. Common This is Just Elementary School,Do Not Over Push your kids they might burn out before middle or high school. And By the way I am an asian parent :-)
This is the best school. I have seen my child developing the best personality traits here. Mr. Wu is the best principal I have ever seen. He is totally dedicated and a great role model. I feel lucky that my child as well as me as a parent had an opportunity to be under his leadership. The teachers are wonderful too and my child loves to go to school every single day.
Mr. Wong, the principle & the teachers are really excellent!!! The best!!! I would not send my kids anywhere else.
L.P.Collins is a Excellent school, Teachers are excellent, API of the school is rising every year. Principal Wong is a excellent administrator now will have to wait and see how the next Pincipal is going to be as Mr.Wong is retireing.Sad that Mr.Wong has to retire. its a excellent school with mixture of both academics and other activities.
My kids goes to Collins ,it's true!!!! the previous principle was real mean ,but !!!!the recent one is the best, very nice ,super friendly ,my kids love him and we sure love everything about our school
First of all, the principal and staff are so enthusiastic. They are always trying to find new and creative ways to teach the children. The kids are well rounded and enjoy being at school. It's a great school to have your children in.
I think that teachers and staff work well together. Parent involvement is growing. PTA sponsors great programs like Destination Imagination and Reflections. The kids are receiving a well-rounded education, including art, music and physical education.
This school has the right balance of academics and enrichment. There are after school enrichment programs like Chess, Spelling Bee, Destination Imagination and Garden Club. The PE and Music sessions are loved by the kids. The 4th graders do an awesome musical presentation of the Gold Rush period in history while the 5th graders re-enact the American revolution with costumes and sets of that period. There are science trips too. My kids love to be in this school !!

This school only cares about turning out little machines. They do not foster imagination. My child's teacher does not teach art because she say's that she cannot do art. This is a horrible example to my child. My child also regularly has 3 hours of homework, that he has not been told how to do. The hard work of the parents is what keeps this school going.
Friendly staff, good teachers. Impressed by SAT scores, and my child says that they learn a lot in a fun way.
If it were not for the extreme amount of help I give at home I do not know if my child would be learning anything. When I volunteer, my child's teacher seems to spend most of her day dealing with discipline problems and not teaching.
We have been pleasantly surprised by this school. The academics and physical ed is well balanced, and the amount of homework is very age appropriate. The pricipal is always around campus, and teachers are encouraging to the kids. We love this school.
This school provides fairly good academics. Students are bright and parents are involved, so scores are high. Like most schools in the district, we are underfunded and everything in Silicon Valley is expensive so my son does not have resources schools in other parts of the country take for granted like a full-time nurse, music instructor, and gifted coordinator. This means it's harder to take care of the whole child. Nevertheless, the school does OK.
We moved from a Private school to Collins. It had been a great school in providing all round development and building balanced individuals. One improvement teachers could focus and help the children is to build leadership and team qualities by promoting group interactions, presentation and team sports.
