My son attends Maple HIll and loves it, his teacher Ms. Kanstul is wonderful and very in tune with each of her students. He won an award for reading after the first month of school and encouraged him to exceed more every day. The office staff is very helpful and the principal Mrs. Carefoot is very involved and cares about the progress of the students.
Our three children have attended Maple Hill, and we have nothing but glowing praise for this excellent school. Administration and teachers are all caring, professional, and overachieving.
I have two children who are currently attending Maple Hill. Maple Hill is a very good school. Teachers devote themselves to educate the children academically and morally. They set up lots of creative and fun activities throughout the school year to help students learn faster and easier. Their teachers are really wonderful and experienced. Most importantly, they do listen to what parents have to say and they take our comments very seriously. The down side about this school is that the facility is getting old and I haven't seen any remodeling done so far. It desperately need some good fixes. I believe the facility condition is one of the worst among all Walnut schools. I hope by the time my other two children attend this school, they will have it remodeled.
Maple Hill is an excellent school. I have two children currently attending and one who graduated. The teachers are wonderfull and extremely helpful. They love the students and it shows! Mrs. Carefoot is a fantastic principal! I highly recommend this school to every parent who cares about their child's future!
This is one of the most well organized schools I have ever seen.It also has great teachers and staff.
The teachers are good, but not much fun. There is a total lack of enthusiasum on the parents part beyond writting the school a check. The school constanly asks for money, but I do not see it being used on the children. Where does the money go?
The level of parent involvement is high as a lot of (predominantly mothers) parents have the advantage of staying home with their children. There is never a discussion or notice stating that there are not sufficient funds for certain programs. People move here for the school district. The academics are a priority in children's lives here as the teachers and students work together to achieve the common goal of well-rounded, cultured and intelligent children who go on to four-year universities. Being a product of this city's schools, I am firm in the belief that this is the best place to send your children to school. The district after-school program reinforces the tenets of the district's policies on education: their homework will be done when you pick them up.
Wonderful school, excellent diversity.
I have four children who have attended or are now attending Maple Hill and I am very pleased with the quality of education they received. Parental involvement is key at any school. I really enjoy the multicultural activities and the extra effort the teachers put in to make learning fun.
Some teacher use junk food, like candy to reward a child or for encouragement. If there is a child who does not behave at all but academically he does extremely well, some teacher will ignore the behavior problems. Some teachers try to influence the child as far as moral rights and wrongs go, instead of working with academic problems.
