I love Butte Valley elementary because the teachers are extremely dedicated and caring. We live in on of the most economically disadvantaged areas of the state - Siskiyou County; our teachers face many challenges on social and budgetary issues - and they do it with grace.
The school has made some strides but the principal contines to be a problem. The district should look at replacing her soon. There are no extracurricular activities to speak of.There needs to be more parent involvement.
The school is good except for the principal. She is not easy accessible. She does not spend much time with the kids. She always seems to be hiding in her office. Every good rating that the school has is because of the hard work of the teachers. They seem to go the extra mile to help the kids.
