I could not be more pleased with the Teachers & Administrators at Duarte High School. Our Son is receiving a quality education. We are very involved parents and are hoping that more parents step up to the plate. It takes a village. Parental presents really makes a different at all grade levels. Please join your PTA's/PTSA s and School Site Councils when given the opportunity.

The early college program is terrific! The staff and the instructors a very attentive to the students needs. This school is a hidden gem. Dont be fooled, the Administration has done a great job to make the environment one focused on education.. good work!

Duarte High school is a good school they have many ROP classes and yhey have Avid there are many clubs and activitys your son/doughter can join in

How is the discipline related to what grades students earn? If anything, DHS needs more parents to help their kids do the right thing and stop making excuses for bad behavior--I think there is always room for improvement but the staff is on the right track--join PTSA or school site council and help-don't just complain

completely unfair with students in the cases of disaplen. Which then makes them turn against the school, these results in lower grade scores!

This school won the California Distinguished School award for 2007. A lot of money was spent to improve the school grounds and it is now a beautiful, award winning school.

I have to disagree with the March 26 review. Both the principal and male asst. principal are very visible, and work with students and parents proactively. The school has been on an upward climb, and continues to grow academically. I am happy that my child is doing well, thanks to all of the assistance the school has given us.

Duarte highschool is excellent! The teachers care about the students and about the students futures! Everyone creates an excellent work environment and has a positive atmoshere!

This school has had many excellent teachers in the past, but it does not know how to hold on to them. Most of the teachers that remain are well prepared to teach the average student. If you want your child to be prepared for college, Duarte is not the right school. AP and honors classes are a joke and the work load may be heavy, but it is all busy work. The clubs and activities are underfunded and not paid attention to. The school doesnt put on any productions of theatre for this reason. Also, many great coaches of various teams have left for the same reason. On the plus side, the school os small and intamate, and you learn to overcome adversity.

Duarte high school is one of the best school I've had. Even though its a small school, it is clean and neat. Also, Duarte High School has nice, funny, cool, and helpfull teachers. I don't regret going to Duarte High School. GO FALCON >>> YOUR THE BEST!!!!!! Keep it up.

Duarte High School has everything that high school students needs. It has a small, caring, family feel and it will prepare your child with the necessary skills that they will need in college. The staff is very approachable and is concerned with the communities needs. The school has all the programs that are needed. Parent involvement though could increase.

About the tests


In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
