I could not be more pleased with this school. Everyone is professional, kind and committed to the students. We love the principal, the office staff , the PTA and our teacher.
Both my children attend this school. The principal, staff and teachers are all stellar. They all care greatly about the students and it shows. I am so happy that my kids love their school and are doing well because of all the support their receive.
I am a teacher at Valley View and to tell you the truth we get the least amount of attention (money) from the district. Because we are so small many of us have to pick up where others schools has hired help.
I loved this school so much the staff is a great .I love you all
The principal has only been there 2 years and has made to many improvements to list. The atmosphere at the school is welcoming and friendly, making the children and parents want to spend time the there. The office manager, knows every child and takes the time to be friendly with everyone. What a great school!!!
This was my elementary school 40 years ago and it's little changed in that time. My child been attending the school for almost 2 years now (he's in 4th grade this year) and I find it to be a clean, quiet campus with teachers willing to work with the students. The principal was new last year so not sure about how she's doing yet - but the API scores did go up 4 points so hopefully everything will continue going up! I liked this school when I went there - and I still like it.
Nice school, get's a lot of attention (money) from the district and it's students benefit.
The quality of academic program is excellent. I just think that the lack of interest show by some teachers about mid year has a lot of impact on the childs efforts. I visit my childs school on daily basis. I am know by the staff. And involved in activities at Valley View. I also would appreciate having a conversation with a teacher with out feeling as though I am a child. I find it insulting. Overall the academic curril. is excellent.
I've had 2 children at this school. It's a good school and seems to be getting better, especially in its test scores, API, etc. The 3 rating I gave for teacher quality is really more like 3+ -- some of the teachers are quite good, though a number are only average in my opinion. I'd love to see more of the teachers use more creativity in their teaching and assignments. The school has a pleasant atmosphere and discipline is good. There are a few extracurricular activities but not too many. An after school drama club was tried recently and this was good -- not sure if it will continue. Parental involvement has been OK but is decreasing -- the PTA is having a hard time finding officers for next year (2005-6). There seems to be stability (not much turnover) among staff and teachers, which is a good sign.
I'd like to compliment the staff at Valley View. They are helpful and supportive. It's important however that parents take an active interest in the school and show children that an education is vital. I've heard parents comment that the responsiblity for a good education falls on the school. Actually it falls on the parents first, then the school.
