Carden of the Foothills has been a wonderful choice for our son. My husband is very pro public education and resisted sending our son to private school until our district increased class sizes. He is now a convert thanks to Carden's wonderful faculty and superb curriculum. My son wants to go there forever. He loves learning French, Art, Music and Computers. The small class size has been wonderful for him. The school's focus on respecting those around him is a great compliment to what we strive for at home. As an alumnus I am happy to see the years have not diluted Mae Carden's original philosophy yet the school has remained current and their programs relevant. The enrichment programs during the school day as well as the after-school programs offer children the opportunity to try new things in a safe and fun environment.

This is the best private school in Monrovia! My son has been attending Carden since first grade. We love the school, principal, teachers, and superior quality of education he is receiving. The classroom sizes are small and as a result the children receive a more individualized education. There are many after-school enrichment programs, clubs, sport programs, etc- to fit every child s interest. I would say besides the fantastic academic standards of this school the 'community' feeling is the part I like best. I know my son is receiving the best education and all of the children in all grades from kinder to 8th know each another and support one other. If you are looking for a nurturing and academically strong school there is no need to look any further. Please visit the school. You will love what you see!!

Having attended a different private school for several years, we decided to transfer our children to Carden of the Foothills. he academic environment is stimulating and the small class size has turned our older child into a student. Our younger child, meanwhile, is getting the enrichment needed to keep him motivated in math. The extracurriculars are fantastic including after school sports, music, and French Club.

Carden of the Foothills is an amazing school and I could not be more pleased with the environment, teachers and academics. I have witnessed an amazing academic transformation in my child over the past year. Having come from another private school in the area , there can be no comparison in the quality of education and caring that takes place with the children at this school. It is apparent that their curriculum and standards are by far superior!!

Carden of the Foothills has truly been the best choice we could have made for our son's education. He is happy and enjoys learning. The academics and enrichment programs are first rate including music, art, physical education and foreign language. The kids are again learning to play the recorders this year. Last year, my son earned his black belt in the Recorder Karate program. The technology program is first rate and the kids learn to use Microsoft Office. I was quite impressed recently when I visited the computer lab and saw all the second graders making PowerPoint presentations. The size of the school couldn't be better and I really like how all the kids know each other and interact together. The Summer School program is excellent as well. We know our son will be well prepared for his wherever his academic future takes him.

Carden is one of those extremely rare Catch-22 Schools. It is so amazing that you want to shout it's praises from the roof tops, yet, it is so amazing that you also want to keep it a secret. If every school in California were a Carden school like this one, then California would be #1 in education nationwide. I'm serious.

This is my first year at Carden. After intensive research on schools for my son, I choose Carden and I couldn't be more happy for my decision. Carden of the foothills is a great school with great educators, and most of all I love the ratio and the attetion each child gets.

We are constantly amazed at the brilliance of Carden's curriculum and the way our children have grown academically and personally. The staff is loving and nurturing, but also instill values and teach our children to be respectful. The language arts, math, technology and P.E. programs are superior to those offered at any school in the San Gabriel Valley. Our children will be extremely prepared when they graduate. More importantly, they will be well-rounded, intelligent, thoughtful young people.

I have been able to experience both aspects of Carden, elementary and middle school, and both are wonderful. The size of the school is misleading, they offer everything any public or private school offers, and more. Language arts, co-ed sports program beginning in 5th grade, music, art, drama, elementary cheerleaders, after school programs, middle school student council, and summer school. The school and students are very involved in giving back to the cummunity as well, and consistently building character and respect for themselves and others. Parent involvment is key to the success in learning for your child, and Carden has many oppurtunites and encourages parents - without overbearing them with mandatory fundraisers. The Principal, teachers, and office staff are wonderful and the school has exceeded our expectations.

Our daughter is in Kindergarten at Carden, and there are ten students in her class. The rate at which she is learning is amazing. In addition to standard classes, she also has French, computers, arts, and PE (real PE... not just playing on the swing set). There are many after school programs, including French Club. She loves her teacher and she loves her school. There are no cliques, and everyone is treated as the same. She will be at Carden through 8th grade for sure.

Carden of the Foothills is the best private school option in the Pasadena/Arcadia/Monrovia area. The school is small, but the academics, art programs, language programs, and sports programs are the perfect building blocks for a child's success in highschool and college. This is the best choice for quality education, and even a better choice for building strong character in your child.

We are so pleased with every aspect of our children's education at Carden. The teachers are focused not only on helping the children find success academically, but also on building strong character and responsibility. The language arts curriculum specific to Carden is amazing, and the inclusion of foreign language, music and computers in the curriculum at all grade levels makes Carden's program extremely well rounded. The administration is wholly focused on maintaining an environment of community amongst the staff, students and parents. While our children have now moved on to an excellent private high school in the area, we still consider Carden our family. We feel strongly that it is the best K-8 school in the area.

We are very happy with the quality of education our son is getting. The personal attention is wonderful. We love that he thinks it's completely normal to speak French. I like that all the kids K-8 know each other and play with each other. There is a real sense of caring and respect throughout. The leadership is wonderful. Parents need to be more involved to make things even better.

Academics are top notch but the school is too small and cliquey.

Small, academically well rounded school. The downside is that the school shows favoritism to children of faculty and their friends.

Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
