I went to this school when I was a child and now my child is there, LOVE it! We are so blessed to have such wonderful and caring teachers and staff! I have friends who wish they were in Butteville's district because of the great reputation they carry! My husband and I would highly recommend this school!
I love this school.. I have a 3rd grader, a 1st grader and soon to Kinder. I love the teachers, and attribute this to being very involved in the school. They are great with the kids and in turn the kids love them. Looking forward to a some changes at the school and moving onward as the kids get older. I wouldn't put them anywhere else!
Not many extra curicular activities, some good teachers, some are very unprofessional (including admin.). Principle tends to single out kids for disipline & accusing them for things without any proof while others get away with all kinds of stuff. Big problem with bullies in 8th grade, while youngr kids have complained nothing is ever done about it. I'm taking my child out of here next year. Test scores aren't that good either. If your kids good at basketball this is an OK school unless he's younger, then he wont ever get to play. I don't think its a safe place for kids here.
Lots of good teachers, but test scores are just average. Administration in basically one person--principal/superintendent, very mediocre. Great sports programs, though! If I could afford it, I'd take my child to Sisson in Mt. Shasta or Grenada Elementary, as they're are much better schools.
My 5th grader started school here several months ago, and I couldn't be more pleased! He's happy, making excellent progress, and loves his teacher. I can see him growing and learning in amazing ways. This is a tiny school with a gigantic concern for students and filled with teachers who show a tremendous zeal for teaching.
Small school, 140 students in K-8.Small class sizes. Excellent teachers who really care. Teachers have good communication system to let parents know what is going on in class and how each student is doing. Focus on raising math and reading scores. Hope to impliment a writing program next year to improve writing skills in all grades. Recently implimented an advanced technology program with laptop computer and an excellent tech teacher. Hot lunch, garden program, afterschool enrichment classes include art, science and golf. Active PTO. Sports program for 5th - 8th includes volleyball, basketball and track. Parents are encouraged and welcome to volunteer in classrooms. This is a great little school in the mountains of Northern California.
