Very disappointed in the troubles that the School is currently facing due to lack of control on behalf of Administration and elected Trustees. Infact some Trustees just bailed and pulled their own kids out of the School and put them into Prospect Sierra when they knew insider information about the School's financial difficulties. The lack of planning or transparency on management decisions have left the entire Windrush community with a lack of confidence in the Trustees and the Administration. How disappointing to have trusted what we thought were good people who had good intentions for the safety of our children. They were only looking out for themselves.

Windrush used to be a great school, until it ran into financial difficulties. The 35 year old school, led by Ilana Kaufman, recently defaulted on a bond which led to the school turning over its property (buildings) to the bank. The school is now in receivership. This is a very sad time for our school.

WOW and MAGICAL are my favorite words to describe what goes on at Windrush. It is amazing to see how turned on my children are already just after three weeks. I have two boys, a kindergartner and 5th grader, at Windrush. The LOVE it! The staff is fabulous ALL OF THEM! They practice differentiated learning which engages each child from were they are. They work with you to understand how your child learns to adapt the environment to work for him/her. They have an active integrated approach to learning which means lots of movement and subjects being taught are threaded through out all of their classes. They also make the content relevant to the children s world, keeping the youth s interest. They are quick to identify and address emotional issues that may be getting in the way of your child learning. The campus is gorgeous and large providing ample space for the children. They have a beautiful library, gym, Spanish class, art studio, music room, computer lab, playgrounds, a large field and more. It is incredibly diverse and eco-friendly too! They offer organic lunches and farm boxes of mostly organic local fruit and vegetables every week. Amazing School!

We have two "lifers" at Windrush (6th & 8th), and cannot overstate our enthusiasm for the school. Our kids have thrived, learned, stretched, and accomplished there. Outstanding teachers, high quality academics, deep and broad experiences, and a very diverse school community. Our eldest is heading to high school confident and well-prepared.

We are so happy with Windrush School! Our son has the most wonderful teachers. Everyday we see him growing socially, emotionally, academically, and in general he is so happy to go to school. A parent could not ask for more.

Note that this review is for Windrush Middle School. (Our child began attendance at Windrush in 6th Grade). Windrush M.S. has been a very positive experience for our kid. Academically Windrush M.S. has extremely strong math and English programs; as well as high-level science, social studies, and Spanish. As an integral component, the teachers are FABULOUS. They are very knowledgeable about their subject areas, truly care about the students, and teach in a way that inspires learning. At Windrush M.S. there are a variety of electives offered each trimester. These have been fun for our child and allow exposure to areas such as animation, leadership, drama, robotics. We also like the fact that there is a P.E. program (something many schools no longer offer). In addition, the social awareness aspect of the Windrush curriculum is much appreciated.

My step-daughter attends this school. She is in 6th grade and loves it! She is getting great grades and becoming more independent (in a good way). As a co-parent I am very impressed with the staff and teachers. They are caring and communicative.

Windrush is a wonderful progressive school, multicultural, hand-on, with a small student body and a diverse curriculum. They are practicing 'green' methods of operation, have a liberal scholarship policy and encourage kids to thrive and explore life!!

I truly love this school sensitive but responsible attitude towards its students. Eco-friendly and instills a sense of community in the kids.
