Horrible school. I regret attending here due to its complete lack of proper educational tools. The website is truly laughable. Like a throwback from the 90s. This was at first Kaplan Academy but they suddenly, without any notice at all, revamped the ENTIRE website and emailed us the week school started that they changed everything and expected us to basically figure out everything on our own. The other thing that I HATE is their live sessions! Students are forced to attend these webcam sessions or else they'll lose a huge amount of credit. My grades suffered tremendously because of this idiotic rule. And that's not why I'm complaining, it's because of how uninformative the live sessions are. Half the time the teachers spend laughing at their own jokes and basically going over what the weeks work will be which can be easily explained in an email. Before when live sessions weren't mandatory I was doing absolutely great. I was averaging an almost 4.0 GPA. After this new implementation my GPA dropped to a 2.0. Please, don't even consider sending your children here!

Cal Pac was a great experience for my son. The Guidance Counselor, Christine Feher, was outstanding at getting my son enrolled and making sure he was taking the correct classes. All the teachers communicated their expectations well, and provided appropriate teaching and support for student learning to occur.

I've been attending Kaplan/CalPac for three years now. It IS NOT a bad school at all. The teachers are excellent. To the parents that are commenting, it may not be the school, it may be your child just has difficulties with school...I've never had technical difficulties unless it was MY internent.. I love this school , and I'm actually graduating this year. I don't think this should should be shut down, that's a little to far. Have you ever thought maybe it was you or your child? There is absolutely no need for these rude comments...I'll have my mom post HER opinion about this as well.. I'm not trying to be rude, but seriously?? My goodness! CALPAC is A GREAT school.. I'm getting straight A's...SO obviously it isn't THAT bad.. :)

Reading the other two reviews from the fall of 2011 confirms my thoughts that there are are other parents with kids out there whose education suffered tremendously from this school! I am sure that there a MANY more. My 11th grade son also went to this school in the fall semester of 2011 and what a mistake that was! Their online program has so many technical problems and it is highly user UNfriendly. The communication from Cal Pac is non existent and no one knows how to promptly respond to a phone call or an email from the Principal to the counselor to the teachers and the tech. people. My son began the semester not too far behind where he was supposed to be and now he has to repeat the whole fall semester! This school should be shut down ASAP! They give a bad name to all of the reputable online charter schools that operate. Avoid this school!!!

How does this school operate! I fully expect to see people in shadow as whistleblowers discussing this scam of a school on televison. The courses are not up to par. The administration is laughable, inexpierenced and frankly quite rude. The teachers, with maybe one exception, are not helpful in the least and so under the radar that I'm not sure my daughter evern has teachers. I have a totally differnt view of charter schools now-all they do is tak taxpayer mony and leave our kids without an education. Stay away from this school.

This school used to be called Kaplan Academy. I guess they thought that changing their name would help. It seems like they were just trying to put lipstick on a pig. This school may claim to be an excellent online alternative education. However, the staff and administration is not supportive or helpful. They claim to have clubs and activities, but they are nearly non-existent. The courses are not accepted by the UC system in California either. My son would have been better off getting his GED. As it stands now, he is enrolled in our home districts alternative program and doing much better. Check out your home school district's alternative programs before enrolling in a program like the one offered here-it is just plain bad....

This is my second year at Kaplan Academy and I love it! They're very flexible and it's a great eduacation. I would recommend this school to anyone especially if you're having difficult with a regular, as in classroom, school.

Kaplan Academy of California is a great school! Their teachers are really helpful and I like how we can go online to do our work. Everyone has been really nice and has helped me get ready for college next year! I give them an A!

I am currently attending this online high school and i cant wait to get ouy of here. I am trying to enroll into another school. I dont even think it is healthy for a kid to be in front of a computer all day. It is too complicated. school should be in a classroom. I am so miserable here. It is so boring. I dont get to talk to anybody. i just started two weeks ago and i already want to leave. i wouldnt reccomend this school to any other person.
