If you are a parent caught between home/un-schooling and full time school dilemma, Waterhouse is an amazing place to be. Classrooms are small (15 students max to two teachers/mentors and a parent volunteer), school is 3-4 days a week (depending on your grade), and as a parent you have the option to participate in your child's education. The staff truly care about each child, and help each child find things that resonate with them as individuals. They completely understand the importance of the home-school connection-and as such, are not sticklers for schedules. Learning is a combination of foundational subjects (like math and language arts) mixed with explorations in these subjects as well as science, history and art. Art is infused throughout the program-from learning to write by studying works of art, to reading classic books and analyzing them. All of this centered around a core of genuine caring for each student that is socially and emotionally supportive. Can you tell I love this school?!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
