ESCS has been wonderful for our daughter these last two years, and we re looking forward to sending our son when he is ready for Kindergarten. When it came time for our daughter to start Kindergarten, we needed to know that she was in a safe & loving place with other children who come from families with the same morals, discipline, and respect that we do. Secondly, we wanted to make sure that she was in an academically stimulating environment that is held to the scholastic standards of other schools. We found this at ESCS. All of the staff has been wonderful to work with, and are lead by Mr. Wells. Mr. Wells sets a standard for how things are done at ESCS and what is expected from both student and parent from the very first day. It is refreshing and reminiscent of how things used to be. There is a very active parent group who are welcoming to anyone that wants to be involved. No school is perfect and I always leave room for improvement but I would recommend ESCS to anyone. Children can thrive if parents take an active, hands-on approach to their education. ESCS encourages you to do so.
My daughter has attended ESCS since she was five years old. Since our first year with Ms. Gonzales, she's had a safe and loving place to learn. I've been a hands on parent, working in the classrooms weekly and getting know the kids. Ive never seen any bulling or unkindness, just normal kids. ESCS has helped mold my daughter into a well balanced teen. I highly recommend this learning environment for Christian families.
My Son Has Attended This School For About A Year. I Am EXTREMELY Disappointed With Whats Going On. They Nickel & Dime You On Everything. This School Has SO MANY Bullies. My Son Has Turned To Self-Harm. Lately He's Been Depressed From The Bullies. He Has Been Called "Gay" Multiple Times. Oh, And The Teachers. They Act Like Nothing Is Going On At All. I CONSTANTLY Complain About The Bullies. I Even Give Them The Exact Name Of The Children That Bully My Son. I Would Most Definetly NOT Reccomend THIS School.
I read all the other reviews before I decided I need to write my own. The negative posts are clearly by those who are not Christian and since this is a Christian school, those should be disregarded. Also some claim its a school of the well off and cliquish. They should try a school that really is like that. My oldest daughter went to a school in Walnut Creek for K - 6 then came to ESCS. The kids were a lot more serious about their education and she had no trouble making friends. Some of the teachers were so so, but that is true anywhere. The biggest thing we noticed is that the teachers really care about the kids. My oldest graduated the HS a couple years ago and my son has been there 4 years now. Highly recommended.
My child has attended ESCS since the 1st grade. She absolutely loves it..The class room setting is very hands on because the classroom sizes ranges from 15 to 24. My daughter is now in the 5th grade..I love her teacher Mrs Hoeksema. She is a excellent teacher that loves to teach. She is very stern but very fair. I have found the students to be very respectful and eager to learn. My daughter has not had any social issues or problems with the kids. Iam a single mother and Iam disabled and not working. Iam struggling to sacrifice to pay my daughter's tuition to keep her in this school. Sometimes Sacrifice is needed for the well being of my childs education, especially with the public schools surounding suffering and struggling to stay open. I suggest ESCS to any one who wants their child to get a great eduaction
my son will not be returning to ESCS, i am very disappointed in the way they handle bullies. The teachers look away instead of handling it except Ms. Sanchez. My son is having a real hard time with the bullies and comes home upset almost every night. I do not like ESCS
El Sobrante Christina School has been inspirational for our daughter, Sydney. She jumps out of bed every morning because she loves going to school there! She is on the 7th grade volleyball team and their team has won every game - they are 5 and 0! The education she is receiving is a confirmation of our decision to send her there after attending public school up til 6th grade. We feel ESCS does a great job of defining life, volunteerism, charity work, helping others, and learning about religion - all in one.
I like this school. We are Catholic and we have our son attending the middle school. This is his 2nd year. The small classes and Renweb (online information on grades, homework and lesson plans) are great. My son attended the first part of last year at a public school and I had to pull him out. The main difference besides Bible classes is the structure, class size, discipline, morals, respect, and parent involvement. The teachers are decent and it helps a child learn easier when the rules are carried out so that the teachers can do what they do best TEACH without constantly being interrupted by disruptive behavior. My son doesn't like it because it is so small and he is very social but the most important thing is that he is learning. He's not picking up bad habits, bad language and truant friends.
I had 2 children attend the high school last year, and now have my 8th and sixth grader here. We have been very pleased overall with the school. The faculty is very receptive and responsive to any concerns we have had. Our kids were welcomed right in to the group on the first day, and the level of learning is very high. We are enjoying the one on one our kids have with their teachers, and the intimate setting that the small school setting provides. I would recommend this school.
I have had 3 children in this school. My oldest is in college now. I have another that will be graduating June 2010 and my youngest is beginning 2nd grade. This is a fabulous school. I recommend it to everyone. ESCS is not perfect but, no school is. They listen to your concerns and always are there to help. Local public high schools are dangerous. There are fights daily and security needed. I am so glad to have my children at ESCS where it is safe . They expect the kids to be respectful unlike the local public jr and sr high schools. It is true that you pay tuition and sometimes feel nickel and dimed but ALL private schools are like that. ESCS is sensitive to that. They are actually less expensive than most private schools. I am proud to say my kids go to ESCS!
