My third grand child is n ow attending John Ehehardt Elementary. We moved to this neighborhood in 2001 specifically for the schools, and we have been exceptionally pleased with the school, the teachers, and the academics. Our first grandson attended all the way through, and graduated high school last Spring and is now a freshmen on the Deans Honor list at Sac State. Our granddaughter attended all the way through, and is now an honor student at Pleasant Grove High, 11th grade. And finally our youngest is 2nd grade and loves his school. Thank you John Ehrhardt....

John Ehrhardt is a wonderful school where the teachers and staff create a warm and nurturing environment. The school has excellent teachers who know the curriculum and know how to teach it in different ways so each student needs are met. They have several after school activities from band, speed stax, basketball and volleyball. The PTO works really hard and puts on several family events each year.

I am a teacher at Ehrhardt Elementary School in Elk Grove and I wanted to post regarding the quality principal we now have at our school. Our principal, Robin Riley has completely changes the climate of our school. Teachers are feeling relaxed, appreciated and supported so that they can focus on what is important... the children. I am so happy to work for such a caring, encouraging and knowledgeable leader. Thank you Mrs. Riley for your professionalism and making the school a great place to learn and teach at.

Both of my kids went to Ehrhardt, and from kindergarten through sixth grade both kids had wonderful teachers and a supportive environment. I was impressed each year with the teachers' abilities to educate, challenge, and inspire the kids. Ehrhardt teachers have an amazing camaraderie with one another, and are a terrific example of how a staff can work together to make sure that each child's needs are fully met. Ehrhardt also has a very active parent population, which adds to the riches the school offers!

I LOVE OUR SCHOOL. I HAVE 4 CHILDREN ENROLLED THERE. WE LOVE THE STAFF, THEY ARE LIKE FAMILY. MY CHILDREN ARE ALL ON THE HONOR ROLL AND THEY LOVE THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THEY ARE LEARING. THE SCHOOL HAS GREAT PARENT PARTICIPATION WITH MANY DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS AN ALL SCHOOL MUSICAL, CHOIR, TRACK AND FIELD, AND BASKETBALL. OUR PTO PUTS ON MANY DIFFERENT ACTIVIES AT THE SCHOOL ALSO.

I cannot say enough positive things about Ehrhardt. Each teacher is there for their students...many putting in more than their "contracted" time. My 2 children have always been very pleased with their teachers. Nothing but outstanding things to say since the new principal Mrs. Riley arrived. She has created a positive environment for both the staff and the students! Some highlights of the year 2011: school wide musical, choir performances, carnivals, book fair, track meet, National Honor Society celebration, Speed Stax club...the list goes on!

My grand daughter was just moved up to a 4th/5th grade combo class after being in a solid 4th grade class in this school for 2 mos. She has worked hard to improve and grow educationally after being "passed-bye" during her first 4 years of school. Ehrhardt teachers are working hard to promote quality education and the parents in this neighborhood are supportive and helpful.

HORRAY FOR JOHN EHRHARDT!!! My grandson started in kindergarten there and is now in second grade. His teachers are great! I think it's hard to teach children that speak so many different languages and have them up to the next grade level by the end of the scholl year. My grandson does not speak another languages and he is doing exceptionally well. Thank you.

Excellent school. I have both a gifted child and a special needs child, and the school has been exceptionally well for both of them.

While the teachers and secretary staff are great, the administration (Principal and Vice Principal) are very bad. There are NO disciplinary actions taken when children act up! The administration is basically afraid of being confronted by parents if their child is reprimanded. This in my mind is not very helpful, it just teaches the children that they can get away with pretty much anything. Bottom line: Worst Principal that I have ever come across!!! Vice principal is fairly new and limited to what she can do because of the Principal. Mr. Brenizer is terrible and has very bad people skills...not somebody that I would like leading my children.

Our family has been at John Ehrhardt since 2001 and we absolutely have had a great experience. All of my kids have had wonderful teachers that have gone above and beyond. They are great about identify GATE children and provided extra opportunities for them. Although there is room for improvement in that area. We have recently moved and are very sad to leave such a wonderful A track teaching staff. We are not so sad to say goodbye to the yard duties! That definitely needs to be changed!

My child has been a student at John Ehrhardt for two years now. I can honestly say that it has not been the most positive experience for him. Unfortunately, I've run across teachers who expect my child to learn the same way as every other child who is a high acheiver. Well, every child learns differently (i.e. visual, hands-on, etc.), and a good teacher would recognize that and make provisions for it. I am hoping to enroll my child into a different school outside the EGUSD because I've had enough. There is no diversity with the staff.

This school is good for the kids. The teachers are very nice. I would love to rate this school a 3 and not a 5 because my kids, who are in different grades are no satisfied when they come home from their field trips. They always say that other schools have better field trips. I would want Mr. Brenizer, the principal, to make the field trips fun too.

There are some very caring Teachers in the K-3 grades. This school demands a lot of parent involvement. The principal and office staff are friendly. The community nearby is very close knit.

Great teachers, great teachers, great teachers, I can't say enough about them; however, parental involvement is required in order for kids to paritipate in many of the 'extra' programs.

I have 2 boys attending Ehrhardt. I am more than satisfied with the school and the teachers. Both of my boys have had a wonderful time there. Their teachers have gone above and beyond, offering extra help when needed. Calling or emailing me with updates on their progress. One went as far as checking in while the kids were off track. I appreciate each and every single one there. They do a great job! Thank you for caring and being so dedicated.

My son was a Kindergarten student so this was my first year at Earhardt Elm. I found the Kindergarten team exceptional. They are caring, informative and they really care about our children. In my opinion they went above and beyond for my son and I thought all of the special projects that our children had completed during the year were very sweet keepsakes. I don't know that every school goes to the extent that this school did to make my son feel needed and special, but I feel very confident that his personal experience in Kindergarten will help him to really enjoy his educational career.

There are great teachers at this school. WE have had many interested, creative, caring teachers. Many are simply frustrated by having to teach to the test, as the district requires. Music (band) and choir are both offered after school. Art is taught by Art Docents (parent volunteers who teach in the classroom one time per month). There has been a basketball team and track team after school. There has been involvement with Odyssey of the Mind and Junior Achievement. Each requires after school parent volunteer involvement. Parent involvement has been strong since the school opened in 1991. However, there has been a great decline since about 2002. There is a growing number of Special Needs kids which need more flexible structures and services (one of my children included). The school and district are struggling to keep up with and meet the needs.

We have 7+ years invested in Ehrhardt Elementary. We have found the teachers, staff and past admin to be exceptional and, therefore, felt blessed. The school's outstanding family involvement and atmosphere, emotional health, and well-above average academic standing is unfortunately rapidly deterioriating under the new administration's 'leadership.' It has been a painful experience to witness such an extradorinary school take such a swift decline.
