First, they put up with my older son (no easy task when he was that age). Now, my younger son (now 5th grade) is having the most wonderful experience there! Mr Looper (the head cheese) should be cloned and put into every school!! He shows how much he really cares about everyone (kids and parents alike) every single day. My son needs to be on a 504 plan, but I have never needed it at this school. All but one teacher has been willing and able to handle my sons issues without it. I am going to hate having to leave this school! <3
This is a great school and such an ideal fit for my young kids. Mr. Looper is "THE BEST PRINCIPAL" and the staff surrounding him are great. The two ladies in the front office are always friendly and helpful. As a parent, I was very critical about the education my children was going to receive and didn't expect to have them stay at this school for very long; however, as I got to know the teachers, principal, and parents of this school, I realized a school is more than just a number. My kids are in the "GATES" program and they are doing well. This is the only school in the district that has an intact GATES program during school hours, which is great. It's not just a school, it's a community.
Actively challenging students on individual basis. Still has GATE program available. Excellent PTO and volunteer base. Minimum fundraising. Low teacher turnover. Cooperative administration with offloaded schools/students itermittently.
Super school. Committed teachers and Staff-longetivity at school. Excellent PTO and volunteer base. Educational fieldtrips for every grade as well as educational, fun assemblies. Minimum fundraising efforts with maximum results. Cozy and comfortable for parents and students. Safe and effective in policies for students. Great community, accessible. Love the GATE program offerred.
I have two girls that attend McKee and I have been real pleased with the way my daughters are learning. I am not to happy with the uniform policy because there is alot of parents out there that can not afford it. I also do not think it is right that on field trips if a parents drives that they can not bring the students younger sibling along. To me that is like saying that child can not learn the stuff that their brother or sister is learning and that is not right.
