incredible school for brilliant children. they work in small groups where the older children become leaders and the newer ones, followers. everyone participates. instructions are clear and repeated. no one falls through the cracks!

My son has attended Edison Academy for 4 years. He was diagnoised with dyslexia in 3rd grade the private school he was at could not help him. We found Edison and immediatly my son felt right at home. Over the 4 years he learned a new way to learn as well as being confident with his own learning style, he is able to advocate for himself and even joke when he goofs up. Our choice not to put him in a public school have a label and be pulled out several times a day was tough but now as we see his academic and personal growth we know it was well worth it. The Edison teacher really care about the students, they meet several times throughout the the year to set personal short and long term goals, this has been very helpful for our son.

My child was attending an elementary school in San Diego that consistently had one of the top 3 API scores in the entire county. As class sizes grew, and the pace of learning increased, my child fell farther behind, swallowed up the demands of the majority. Edison Academy's style of teaching, their philosophy about learning, and their caring about each individual who attends the school, changed my child from a 5th grader who feared school and often felt ill in the morning, to one eager to arrive early, homework completed, extra credit included, dressed, groomed, happy and catching up for lost time. What could be better for any parent? She is learning and happy to be there. To date, she has not had one single bad day or bad experience as reported by her, the teacher or classmates. Tuition and driving to/from school were the hurdles for me.

I am so impressed by the small class sizes that Edison offers as well as the great support system that is in place between the teacher and students and parents. It has helped get my student ready for transitioning into Rancho Encinitas Academy and then onto high school. It's a great place.

I found Edison to be such a wonderful school for students that need special educational needs. They are fully prepared for the traditional programs the their sister school has as well as high school and beyond. Thank you for being there for our child.

The school is very small. One would think the size would create a family atmosphere. Not the case at REA. There is extreme favoritism with staff and the children that attend the school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
