I am a parent of a junior who transferred from SDA. It has really been the best move. The teachers and entire staff are absolutely great with the students and with the parents as well. They really take the time to assess what each students needs are, not just academic needs but the emotional needs that are so important to the success of each student. They take the time to praise students achievements, which only boots self esteem which is essential in each child. There are support groups available for kids who are struggling in certain areas of their lives, or who just may need someone to talk to. Each student goes at their own pace which creates less stress on them and allows them to succeed. I think that some people don't know how great of a school Sunset is and I hope that will change and the word will get out so kids can benefit from going to school here. My child has gone from a 2.4 to a 3.8 grade average. The school district should contact the newspaper and perhaps they could do a story on the school so that more parents and kids can benefit from the great learning environment that Sunset has to offer. Maybe I will contact them myself!
