The school community of teachers, staff, and parents, led by the principal, is wonderful. We are so happy to be at Encino!
Encino Elementary is loosing some of it's White students and quite a bit of the Black population due to the leadership of it's principal. The school has reached an all time high of chaos this school year 2009-2010. Over 30 parents pulled their kids out of this school 2008-2009 school year and more are scheduled to leave before the 2010-2011 school year begins. This school is in dire need of a new Principal. Most of the teachers are great and committed. Parents are involved, but constantly asked/requested to give an enormous amount of money. it's like paying for private school. Better management should be enforced here to regain a healthy enviornment.
The principal makes this school. She is stern as a principal should be but also caring. I love the PE coach as well and some of the teacher's are great as well.
The school community is great. There is lots of involved families and many ways for people to participate in the school community.
My children are third generation Encino Explorers. This incredible school is an amazing combo of great faculty, incredible teachers and very involved and concerned parents.
Encino Elementary has an exceptionally strong parent community, including a very active organization of Dads, and a very dedicated facility. This combination provides the students with an exceptionally strong program, particularly for an urban public school.
this is a wonderful school. The teachers and principal are involved and caring. I am very happy that this is our neighborhood school. We love it !!
Encino Elementary is an amazing school and part of LAUSD. It has great teachers and great parent involvement. This is my first year at Encino with my 6 year old and look forward to my 2 year old attending as well!
Encino is a great little school in the big mess of LAUSD. It has great teachers and wonderful parent involvement. My son started this year in Kinder and I'm looking forward to many more years with my 2 year old attending as well!
The school is an amazing community of parents who are devoted to volunteering and making our children's lives enriched and fulfilled.
We are a small community of very devoted parents who work hard at raising money to make our school the best it can be for our kids.
Encino Elementary is an amazing school and we could not be happier with the experience and eduucation that our kindergarten child is getting. A key difference here is the extremely strong and commited community of parents that go above and beyond to raise money and support our school. We have feel as though we have ownership in the school and work tirelessly to raise money to aid our teachers and administrators as they nuture, educate, and support our children.
It's a wonderful school, I love that my daughter goes to Encino Elementary
I wish we could support LAUSD schools, but they have consistenly showed that thier focus is not the kids. With 29 kids in a kindergarten class, we felt forced to seek a better environment for our kids.
On paper this is a great school. Most of the teachers are really committed to the children. We felt compelled to leave to seek a better, warmer, more encouraging environment from the principal on down, one that goes beyond the paper trail. Wish we could have found it in an LAUSD school.
I love this school! The principal is very sweet and caring when you get to know her, great after school enrichment classes, excellent teachers. Diverse student population. Great Art teacher, Amazing PE coach, Fantastic librarian and library, fun and educational computer classes. Lots of fun events...They have been very good to my daughter and family...we love encino elementary!
Encino is a great school, great teachers, and great saff. Love you Encino. my son go there and he loves it very much.
Pros: great teachers who challenge students who show that they are ready for more, the art classes are superb, computer teacher is wonderful, PE twice a week, nice after school programs, friendly campus Cons: I wasn't thrilled with the principle - she really does her job but, is lacking in 'people skills'!
The parent-teacher-staff relationships contribute greatly to the well-rounded success of our school.
