We love Miller! We have been here for over 6 years, since my youngest started kindergarten. I still have two younger ones here. The school is one of the smallest in the district and I think that is a very nice thing. We have a nice sense of community. We love the teachers and the office ladies are the best!
We have two children attending this school. I really like the teachers that they both have - they are very dedicated and overall good people. However, I am not impressed with the administration and have witnessed a number of incidents where teachers yell (at the top of their lungs and very harshy) at the children. Some of the behavior I've seen from adults there is unacceptable and does not demonstrate the behavior we want to see in our children.
We have two children who go to Miller School and we love it! The staff is professional, the new principal seems to have a good handle on how to run a school, and, best of all, there are only around 500 students on campus! Mr. and Mrs. McDowell are both great teachers (Mr. McDowell 3rd grade, Mrs. McDowell 4th grade). If you are moving to the area, this school is a great choice.
The principal is a pushover with the students and does not properly take charge of situations. The school yard duties, with the exception of one, are terrible to the students! The student pick up process is terrible and there is no where to park. There is no one to properly cross the students immediately after the school bell. There are a very few exceptional teachers!
My daughter goes to Miller. She loves her teachers Mrs Kersnowski and Mrs Padilla. At first she was so nervous about being placed in a combined classroom with second grade but now she really loves it. The principal is so involved and the teachers are great. I am glad she got transfered to Miller.
If you have a child that requires special education services, I would highly recommend enrolling elsewhere. They only will do the absolute minimum that is required of them, they do not show the extra interest in the students that need the extra support.
after boundary change, level of parent involvement has changed dramatically. Boundary change was detrimental to this school.
My grand daughter is in Ms.Wismas' class and loving it. I was totally amazed at the lessons they are doing. Compared to the education that her mother recieved, she is already a couple years ahead. Good job Ms.Wisma! I would highly recomend this school. So far we are very pleased.
So far so good! my daughter just started kindergarten at miller a month ago. She was hesitant at first since a new atmosphere, but now loves it! Mrs. Wisma and chapparone are great! The principal mr. C. Seems really involved and interested in all that goes on including before and after school safety. I was originally unsure about the school, but it's really warming up on me....
