Attended all four years. Mostly their honors and A.P. courses. Really prepared me for university courses.
As a parent of a sophomore and senior at EHS, I must say that all my experiences dealing with the staff have been superb. All my questions and concerns are answered and met within a reasonable amount of time. EHS' test scores continue to flourish which I believe is due to a well-qualified teaching staff as well as students who are so eager to learn. Also, EHS is ranked the highest performing high school in Escondido. This is probably due to the numerous Honors and Advanced Placement classes which are devoted to collegiate levels of learning. Students have a wide array of clubs and extracurricular activiites to choose from. If sports are your child's passion, EHS is the place to be, offering numerous sports teams. Last year, nine teams of EHS athletes were honored as Valley League Champions. Your student will be proud to be a cougar: loyal, strong, and true.
This is an excellent school with great teachers, student body, and faculty. My child has gone there all for years and has been nothing but happy with the teachers and education she has recieved.
I can only judge the honors program at EHS. Overall the teachers were excellent, just a couple, my girls sophomore years, that I did not like the way they taught. As for the principal, we got a new one this year, and didn't really get to know her.
Great caring teachers. A school that has really improved and serves the needs of the community well.
I have a son who is a sophomore this year and he is so encouraged and eager to be at this school that I would have to say that ehs is the best school for kids in escondido, and they have the best band in town! The band director is great and he makes the kids responsible and want to be responsible for their learning, and that is reflected in their other classes, I have another son who will attend ehs next year and I can't wait for him to get involved in band too!
My 15 year old son has had a very positive experience so far at Escondido High School. He just finished his freshman year and took advantage of the 'MAGIC' program offered at this school. His Algebra grade has improved since participating in this free course offered a few times a week. MAGIC program is flexible so he was able to play sports and still participate and benefit. All in all, the kids are responsible, the parents are involved and the attitude of the students is positive and progressive. I feel safe allowing my son go to this school.
Escondido High School is an under performing school. The administrative staff is not able to create a safe, orderly learning environment. The teaching staff is under qualified. Moreover, parental involvement is practically nonexistent.
Escondido has always had a bad wrap, but it really isn't bad whatsoever. EHS has a great faculty and a great student body.
