We selected Calvin Christian School for our oldest son over 6 years ago. We were referred to Calvin by some friends at our church (a non-denominational and charismatic church, I might add). Since day 1, we have felt welcomed and our son had no problem making friends. We now have both our sons in the Elementary school and our daughter in the preschool. The teachers genuinely care about our children. They not only want them to succeed academically but also as person. The school has taken a proactive approach to safety by increasing the # of times the kids practice for emergency situations throughout the year as well as adding security cameras across campus. Some of the many highlights that we love about this school is that our kids are being taught Spanish daily, they have a music class 2x a week and a Christian worldview really is integrated into everything they do. Calvin's annual Christmas concert is the highlight of the year and is truly a community event. My kids have also learned the value of serving others - service projects are done throughout the year, one of the coolest being a walk-a-thon to raise money for a charity of their choice. Calvin Christian is the place to be!

Calvin offers a Christ-Centered education. I enjoy the service learning aspect of the school. I also enjoy the fact that my children are being educated in the fine arts and have a PE teacher who specialized in Physical Education.

Our 3 daughters went to Calvin and now our grandson goes there! They've received a wonderful education that prepared them for excellent careers. The sense of community and love for the Lord makes it a wonderful experience. We highly recommend Calvin Christian School!

Calvin Christian Highschool was an awesome place to learn. It allowed me to study, do extracurriculars, and volunteer throughout my 4 years there. This not only made me feel great, but helped me get into college. It completely prepares you for college, from challenging curriculum to assignments to time management. The staff is great and the teachers are easily accessible and passionate about what they teach. I loved it all around!

We are very glad that we sent our child to Calvin. The teachers have been wonderful, they have shown us that they care about their students and have worked with our child to help him be more successful. Academically I feel this is a strong school that has well prepared our child for college. Calvin has been a wonderful positive experience for our family.

Our kids LOVE school! After moving from out of state, we were so thankful for the option of a Christian school in the area. Although we were new to Southern California, Calvin is not. Since 1961 Calvin has shown it's excellence in educating students for success in college and life, in acquiring and keeping quality teachers, and in their partnership between the principals and parent-led board. As parents, we love these qualities, but our kids love how this plays out during each day. They love the Biblical world-view brought out in each subject, taught from loving, wise teachers, in the company of the friends they've made. Going to Calvin is a financial commitment and sacrifice but one that we've chosen because this kind of education is worth that much to us!

I had 1 child in this school and it was awful. We wanted a good solid christian school for our kids but this school was not for us. Most of time I felt like I was in Middle School being pushed out by the popular kids, and that is just how I felt with most of the staff and parents. If your child has special needs or a different learning style you may have a very hard time here. The academics are not strong here we ended up teaching my daughter to read at home before it was taught in class. I have heard this same issue from a few parents who have left the school. If you are not from a family who has grown up in this school it's very hard to break in. We chose Classical Academy who welcomed us and our children and it has been wonderful. This is just my opinion and this school may be great for some but treated us horribly.

Calvin Christian school has been a wonderful experience and blessing for our family. People are positive, teachers are genuinely concerned for our kids to achieve their best performance, and no student is a number. They can all participate in sports, music, theater, debate teams, and the list goes on. Parents can be involved as much or as little as they wish. No school is perfect, but when we hear about other schools, we are always so thankful for Calvin. Calvin gives our kids a wonderful Christian foundation which is so important to build the rest of their lives on.

Calvin Christian School is a fantastic school. We have sent all four of our children here starting in Kindergarten (our youngest attended preschool), and they have all had an excellent academic education and have grown tremendously in their Christian walk. The teachers are all Christians who love their students. They watch out for them and keep in constant touch with the parents, The administrators are very accessible for questions and/or concerns, and after our kids have gone on to college, they have been very well prepared for the change, both academically and socially. Every one of our kids have been involved in sports and the music program. It's been wonderful to see them feel comfortable enough to try different programs to use their talents.

The quality of the academic curriculum is unparalleled, the teachers are dedicated-thoughtful-caring and encouraging. Calvin offers fine arts, sports, and many extras such as environments sensitive to allergies. But the thing that makes Calvin so distinctive among -not just private schools, but Christian private schools is the natural ability developed in each child to not only rely on Jesus but to extend and apply biblical principals in their everyday lives. I sub teach at other Christian schools throughout San Diego county & I can tell you for a fact the students in other Christian schools do not have the natural biblical insight and leadership that I observe in all ages of CCS students. My kids will be bold Christian leaders with a deep understanding of other faith no matter what profession they take later in life because of how CCS is equipping and shaping their biblical world view. For us- giving our kids 1 hour of Sunday school a week simply was not enough to impact the future for Christ and equip our kids in that mission. Calvin Christian School integrates the whole child. Our kids have made friends for life and we are a part of a wonderful community at Calvin.

Calvin encourages, challenges, and helps shape my four children to have an impact on the world around them. It gives me comfort and joy to know that the teachers and administration know each child's name and pray for all the students daily. I also appreciate the fellowship and friendship of the Calvin Christian community. We feel very blessed to be part of Calvin and highly recommend it to others.

We couldn't ask for a better school. From the curriculum to the athletics and just the overall "atmosphere", Calvin has it all!! We are so pleased to have our children enrolled in such an amazing school that is equipping them with all the necessities for life. The curriculum is rich and challenging, with no gray areas, very strict, yet absolutely fair. The athletic programs are wonderful and taken extremely serious by the staff and the directors. I just don't have one bad thing to say about our experience with Calvin, I couldn't have designed a school that was more rounded and a better environment for my children - we love it!!!!

I always thought I would send my two kids to Christian school but finances did not allow us to do so when my son started kindergarten. He attended public school through third grade. We were thankful he had two Christian teachers during his four years but the curriculum was becoming progressively liberal. We strongly objected to the teaching of revised history, journaling feelings during math class, teaching there is no absolute right and wrong, using reading time to teach conflict resolution, too much emphasis on environmental issues, political slants on events, etc. We made a commitment to educate our children in a Christian school with traditional curriculum to support our family values no matter the cost or inconvenience. We considered four highly recommended Christian schools. Calvin was the furthest from our home but has been by far the best choice. I have become very aware of the positives and limits of the other three schools during the past eight years. Calvin shines well above the others. I am happy to make the long drive to allow my children to have a solid education with teachers/admin/staff that support our values in a safe, fun environment.

Sometimes a parent wants a school to walk WITH their family through the teen years. Calvin High is a place like that. Christ-centered education where they can increase their faith as they learn. A pleasure to attend activities at the school (music programs, musicals, drama, sports, etc.). And a pleasure to interact with students. The faculty knows the kids well and are able to come along side them in their learning experience. Many thanks for being there for us.

Calvin Christian School promotes an excellent education with teachers who educate the whole child from a bibical viewpoint. The high standards that are maintained throughout the curriculum and classroom surroundings develop the child's mind and character. Calvin Christian has provided my three children with a well rounded education and a curriculum that prepared them for the challenges of higher academics and relationships encountered in society and the workplace.

Our family has been very happy with Calvin Christian School. We have a large family and have already had 3 children graduate and we have 3 more who are currently attending CCS. Is the school perfect? No. But, overwall, our children are receiving a GREAT Christian education! The ones who have graduated have been very ready for college and have done well. We appreciate the well rounded education that they are receiving. Because it is so small, they are able to be involved in everything they desire to be involved in including sports and music. The teachers have been wonderful role models and live out their faith in and outside of the classroom. We would wholeheartedly recommend CCS for any one who is looking for a quality education based on Christ alone!

I wish I had discovered Calvin Christian School 5 years ago. Some Christian schools have wholesome social environments without the commitment to strong academics. Others have strong academics but compromise in the areas of discipline and morality. What makes this school unique is it's unwavering commitment to quality academics, with solid dedication to Christian principles. These two distinctive qualities, combined with excellent teachers who are passionate about the subjects they teach, a full sports program, fine arts programs, interesting electives, great leadership, and quality families make this school a rare and superior gem. I am so thankful that my children are receiving the best education available.

What a privilege, comfort, and joy, as a parent, to know every day that my children are attending a school with a safe, caring and Christian enviroment. Not only is Calvin a Christian school but it is also academically strong. My oldest son was well prepared for college. My other children love to be involved in the extracurricular activites that Calvin offfers. Calvin reinforces what we teach at home.

My kids got a great education from Calvin, but even moreso they grew up with teachers who were genuinely interested in who they were becoming. Even now, when my kids have long graduated, they love to come back to the school and see the teachers. They learned that the value of Christian education is not only academics but a community of faith---and there are over 70 Christian churches represented at Calvin! It is such a blessing to see this. We sacrificed a lot to pay tuition, but it was the best decision we ever made for our kids.
