I liked Fillmore High. Teachers were ok, parent involvement was great. I would like to see more programs for advanced learners.

My daughter attends FHS and participates in as many honors classes as possible. Like any organization, some areas are weak, others strong, depending upon the individual teachers she's had. For such a small school, I would say that Honors/AP programs are definitely available for those that want them, but the overall quality needs to be improved. So far, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being best, I'd rate the programs in terms of preparing my daughter for college, as follows: English: 7, Mathematics:7, Foreign Language: 5, Science:7, History:8, Music: 9, Art: 8. I think the administration has a good handle on discipline and gangs are not an issue at school.I think the adminsitration doesn't do enough to get rid of the few bad teachers, although they do seem to keep most good ones. Turnover is an issue though. Hope this helps.

A pretty good school despite small size and teacher turnover as of late

Concerned about high teacher turnover. Great band program. Great soccer program. Concern about if students are challenged in their studies.

Fillmore High School has provided me with a positive experience with the schoolwork, teachers, an the extracurricular activities. It may be small in size but it is very big in spirit.

Not a big school in size, but big in everything else that matters including teachers who care and most of all in importance of the students, Fillmore is big in spirit.
