I am very fortunate to be part of this employer where we have same philosophy and belief in positive environment for a Deaf child to thrive, learn and experience in. This school saves many lives and stand strong for more than 160 years. Best suggestion, early start with us, the better, all staff posses many different specialities... Hundreds staff completed their masters degree program and teaching credentials... As opposed to other mainstreamed schools where there are only one or three teachers. I wish i could explain more about our success stories, especially with family involvement. Come visit and see for yourself.
California School for the Deaf, Fremont is an awesome school. I believe it is one of the best schools for the Deaf in the nation. My child is thriving as a student at the school. It is fortunate that my child is having a great educational experience at the school. Hand waves go to everyone in the school community.
I will tell you how i feel about this school, California School for the Deaf Fremont. I hope you understand how i feel about this. I feel this school give me hard time and I have a lot problem with Teachers. They give me suspends for no reason. I feel frustrated with this school. Why? I feel that Teacher and Principal oppress us. When I tried to tell Teachers or Principal how i feel or something else. But They always oppress us. Or can even ignore us feel. I really hate this school so much. I did tell my parent that I want to move to other school. But my parent really want stay here because this state beautiful natural and weather. And point is i need some supports and helps. Thanks for reading this :)
I'm 7th grade student in the first year of Middle school. I don't like my school because they did a lot of abuse like demanding to pick up teacher's stuff and clean teacher's desk. Plus, they are giving kids a hard time. They act like they are smarter than students. We are victims. This is my first year at CSDF and I want to go back to my old school. But many of our parents fought back but they think they are powerful than us, so please help and protect us for students' sake.
Too many bullies, and very strict staffs. Staffs are no good because they never listen to me. They just ignore me and punish me for no reason. I suggest you to not go there because they treat me like kid and ****.
Great to see the test scores added but if the great school folks came to see what we were doing they would see we are far above a 2. Because all of our students are Deaf, most are Limited English Proficient. Having a positive index, +23, shows we are pulling up the standards of learning for Deaf students throughout California.
California School for the Deaf has given my children many opportunities to grow and learn! They have full access to their natural language and they are expcted to learn just as everyone else in any regular public school! As a parent I am welcomed on a daily basis to all programs, my children's classes and to partake in committees and share my ideas for improvement and growth! There is not another school that I would want my children to attend!
I can't imagine a better school than CSDF to place deaf children in. The education system there is top-notch and I pray that any parents with deaf children will consider CSDF first thing before placing them in mainstreamed schools.
CSD addresses each child's individual needs and makes language and communication a priority via American Sign Language+English bilingual instructional strategies. We search out and implement innovative practices and are always striving to make our school site the best academic and social environment for deaf students and their families. We are also fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools & Programs for the Deaf. Our academic, career, athletic, guidance counseling and residential programs enable students to develop life skills which allow them to be successful and competitive in the majority culture that they face on a daily basis out in the world. Our parent education program provides support, sound information and guidance in how to raise a healthy deaf child. Our students come back year after year to visit us and many stay connected to our school and community. I have been a teacher here for many years and have visited many other school programs for deaf students and it is still clear to me why the California School for the Deaf in Fremont maintains its stellar international reputation.
