There is hardly No communication between teachers and parents. You cannot just walk up and speak with a teacher, you have to make an appointment, email ect.. which is not personal at all. Since there are so many students at this school, your child seems just rushed through the school system. I am trying to be involved in my children's education and how I can help my children succeed better but again no communication between parents and teachers. I guess back to school night is your only contact with the teacher. I am very dissapointed in this school. If you want a better education for your child, try Cabrillo school instead, at least your children will have more one on one with thier teachers and you can actually go up and talk to thier teachers there instead of being told to stand behind a line, like they do at Brier.
I have not had a problem with my child on this topic so I don't know. Parents are encouraged to always talk to thier child/children about what is going on at school. It is important to make sure your child can come to you if they are being bullied at school.
There is hardly NO communication between parents and teachers at this school. This school is over crowded with students so your child will most likely not get the education they need if they have learning differences.
So far all I have seen is that students are expected to know the rules as soon as they step foot on school grounds. Even the younger ones. I would like to see this school have more compassion for thier students. You can see the teachers are over worked with so many students packed in thier classrooms.
For most lower grades 1rst thru 3rd there is a paper letting parents know what the child's homework is for the week, so the parents can make sure it is done. There is nothing like that at Brier. Again very limited communication between teachers and parents and This does not help your child at all unfortunately. Communication is so important.
