I love this school so much. I miss going here. I'm an eighth grader at Thornton, and everyone's always like, I LOVE PATTERSON ; WARWICK ; and alll those other schools, but honestly, FOREST PARK FOR THE WIN!!!

Yes, this is a great school! Great teachers; I guess. I am new to the school so I can only speak for my child's teacher and she is great. What is really good about the school are the PARENTS. GREAT PARENTS!

It is like one big family. Parents are involved in every activity starting from helping with controlling the traffic during school hours, helping teachers in class and correcting homework. It has a close teacher-parents relationship.

It is one of the best schools in Fremont since it has good staff and good programs also. It involves parents and teachers in schools through the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

Great school my kids love the school. It contains nice teachers protective yard duties, and wonderful shows.On the last Wednesday of the month, they have a assembly with different shows every time it seems. this school also has a Friday show, as my kids tell me, witch happens every Friday. On the show, they tell the latest news,weather, and other interesting stuff. Overall its a very good school. I would recommend this school to anyone

I have 2 kids @ FP and am overall happy with the education they're receiving here. BUT I'm appalled at the ban of rolling back packs (on black top & school grounds) that the previous principal imposed (and then LEFT after imposing this ban which our poor kids are now STUCK WITH). She was awful in hearing parent's concerns. This was and IS still a big concern. My 5th grader has to struggle with 25lbs every morning and afternoon lugging his un-rollable rolling backpack either by lifting it and carrying it or on his shoulder. We may have had incidental minor accidents w/ kids not handling their rolling bpks properly last yr but now we WILL HAVE 900+ kids with broken spines and backs as they grow. These are formation yrs, it's imp to TEACH, to EDUCATE our kids (and punish if they don't obey the rules) not BAN!!

I have two kids attending the school. I echo the words of the other parent. The current principal does not have the skills to manage the school. The school used to have a very good GATE program. Its mandarin immersing program was a pioneer in the area. Those two programs have been on a downward spiral since her arrival. Those two programs are ineffective now, and many good teachers have left. It is quite common that the materials in standard CA curriculum are not being taught at school. Parents will have to closely monitor what have been taught at school, and to work very hard to cover the lose ground.

Teachers are wonderful in this school. I have two kids enrolled in FP and they are happy learning in FP. I agree however with one of the previous parent from this Review that the principal in FP could have managed the school better if she had paid more attention on the kids or simply listen to majority of the parents prior to make important decisions that could impact all the children in FP. The rolling backpack ban is an example. The principal just made the decision without any explanantion to parents. She seems completely have no idea about the weight that a fifth grade student's backpack could be prior to annoucing the ban, and also refused to go through a better decision making process e.g., through a vote.
