Even if other people are so mad about the API scores being high, I see nothing wrong with it. The teachers don't 'drill and fill' us, but carefully go through the practice books with us. As for the dress code, even if the teachers DO wear inappropriate stuff, at least they teach properly, with the correct respect towards both students and parents.

I agree with the othe parent about a K teacher dressing inappropriately. On Halloween, her costume had a skirt that barely covered her behind (and she's not young). It was disgusting and a poor reflection on the school. Don't get me started about the fishnet stockings...

My son now in fifth grade, my daughter in first grade, my son finished his kindergarden in a famous private school, my daughter finished hers here, compare with my son's, I'll give here 10 and other's 5. Hope school pay more attentions for kid's playing game, my son has this problem now!

The school got good academic scores. The office staffs are not supportive and their attitudes are really bad though.

Sad, but true about those API scores and that is part of the reason we have left the district. Ironic, isn't it? On the other hand, I came across some of the most caring, qualified teachers at MSJE. There are a few who really do love their job and are good at it.

This is a great school. Most teachers are wonderful and caring and do a lot with very little resources. The new principal has made a huge positive difference. I am pleased with our decision to move to the MSJE school district.

API scores are not eveything. 'Highly Competitive' in elemenray school will not bring up well-roound and happy students. Except for high API scores, what have left in this school? This school is not supportive and make you feel not to be welcomed at all if your child has some learning problem. Some of teachers and administrators in this school are not friendly to the parents and students (sometimes even very rude).

Hi! I'm a student at MSJE and I love this school! Although this school is highly competitive, it is also very fun. When ever the class gets high scores, I am pressured. I never ever found myself struggling with academics. I am always proud to attend this school because of the API scores.

I think we need more caring teachers in our schools. I am very impressed by the quality of education and values that were taught to my child last year by her teacher -Mrs. Pande. It is teachers like her who make a difference in a young child's life. She is the best!

A very strong school academically, and sought-after by many. Traffic and parking is a real hassle, however, and the school can be hard to get into because of its popularity. Parents of students here generally push hard, so it can be a competitive environment. The school is very multicultural, with many kids coming from homes where English is not their first language, but they basically become proficient within a year or two. The area is predominantly high income. Many parents take advantage of the after school daycare program. A highly recommended school in a nice part of town, but a bit exclusive (its a very pricey neighborhood to live in- which excludes many people).

My daughter started in Kindergarten and will be in 1st grade this year. The class sizes are manageble and the teacher was good. My wife and I are happy with the school - so far.

This school is great as far as education, students, teachers, behavior and more. When you read the test results and the scoring the state has given our school, you feel proud to belong here. It makes me uneasy to think of leaving because there is a possibility of us moving and the schools dont even compare. As far as what a parent wrote of student dress code...I'd be more concerned about how well English is taught.

School mind be great, but teacher need to be reinforce in dress code. There is one K grade teacher usually comes to class with short jean and no sleeve shirt or pull over and wearing flip flop. Isn t teacher student's roll model, especially very young student?

Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
