Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My son attended this school for 4 years. He just moved on to middle school. While he attended the school I very much disliked it. He had a few teachers that tried to reach out to the students. The principal however is completely closed minded and to strict to be in charge of an elementary school. There was never any extra curicular activities. It got to the point that my child disliked attending school. They even took away the simplest things like valentine and halloween parties. Mrs. Walker was the cause because before she became the principal my son loved this school. Now he's in middle school and loves it there too.

Ericson needs to broaden its academic focus, which is test, test, test, at this time. Ericson has teachers who care about their students, and students are generally respectful and well-behaved.

My daughter has learned nothing at this school. She is in the 6th grade and has attended this school since 1st grade; not once has she even read a whole book or written a book report. Actually, she has not written any report until this year which is due at the end of the year. It is on a country, which I think is funny because they only concentrate on reading and math and never have time to do History, Science, not even P.E. All they ever talk about is how they have to concentrate on passing test scores for state testing. The teacher's are horrible! One teacher told my daughter at a parent conference night that as long as she brought her grade up to a D in one of her subjects it would be fine because that was a passing grade. I could not believe that that!

My daughter has attended Ericson since she turn 5 yrs. old, and we been very lucky or blessed with her teachers throughout her years at this school she's now 10 and in 5th grade. I have had great experiences with the teachers, and there staff. They have and continue to help her in her toughest subjects. The Principal and Vice Principal are very nice caring staff. I'm not saying it's a perfect or the best school, but I will tell you there's a lot of people I see tyring to get it to be one of the best.

The Principle is a great woman as well as the vice prin.Unfortunately the teacher my child this year has been unable to make a connection with him. They have butt heads from the begining. He is not an angel needs some extra attention.Very few have been able to correspond with this. The school counselor has been a tremendous turn around for us as well as my child.I do hope the teacher will become more helpful to the other chilren that have the same problem in the future. All around I think the school is probably about 70% good and 30% bad.The other children need to be punished for their wrong as well. Some of the staff need to watch the children better.More crossing gaurds not children. They goof to much.

My daughter teaches the 4th grade at Erickson, and you could not find a more knowledgeable, capable, and caring teacher. I personally know of all the time she spends outside actual classroom hours, preparing for the enrichment of her students. She cares!

My children attended this school and I tried to get them transfered on numerous occasions. It was blocked. There is no continuity in homework or in what they are taught. Teaching is below grade level. My sixth grader did not learn anything and her teacher did not know what to do with her. This was the worse experience my children have ever had with a school. I have personally seen and witnessed the humiliation and lack of concern these teachers show to the children that are entrusted to their care. Sad, sad, sad.
