My son has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 2 years at Riverdale. The teachers are attentive and truly care about their students. The school does a great job to try to keep the parents engaged in their student's academic success. They do a fantastic job with recognizing student achievement.

I have a son that goes to kindergarden at Riverdale and at first I HATED this school. The first day sooo much went wrong that could of gone wrong, BUT instead of getting overly dramatic about it and starting a fight with everyone in the office(which I wanted to do) I got more involved. I agree with the teacher that made the comment about 'little parent involvement...'. I found that the more I got involved the less I questioned the school. My sons teacher is GREAT but I would have to say that 1 lady in the front office is GRUMPY no matter what time of the day you go in. Overall I think the school is OK. Those that are against the school should get more involved.

I have been a substitute teacher at this school and right off the bat, my initial impression was that the staff is cold and unfriendly. The teachers were all very kind but seem a bit discouraged and depressed about the academic development of the children. I don't think there is a lot of support for the teachers or the students. This school seems to do just the bare minimum or less for their students. They are poorly behaved and disrespectful which is undoubtedly a standard set by the schools teachers and administrators and not necessarily the fault of the kids. It also leads me to believe there is very little parent involvement and accountability for the students. The only other elementary school I've visited in Garden Grove that I found to be as sub par as this one is Violette.

This school , is excellent. It has teachers who educate the children very well. My teachers were Ms. Townson, and Mrs. Cueva. But the secretary s are very rude to the kids. I remember being late a few times in the beginning of the year, they'd get very mad at me. Mrs. Cueva may seem like she's being very hard on them but she actually cares about the kids. If I ever had a kid she/ or he would go there.

This school has excellent teachers who are their to help point their students in the correct direction in life. Mrs. Cueva is a 6th grade teacher and has inspired my son to become the best he can be at what he inspires in life.

My children started riverdale in the 04-05 school year. We came from a much smaller school and there is defenatly a differnce. Although I have enjoyed all of my childrens teachers and think that they are doing a wonderful job, I would like to see the principal a little more involved. Ms. Lewis the vice principal appears to be a wonderful lady but I do feel like it is more of a job with the staff then being commited to change lives. I do not see very much parent involement and not as many school activities as there old school. Academicaly this is a good school but personaly I would like it to be more involved emotionaly with the children it appears to me that no one is willing to bend over backwards to really make a personal effort in these childrens lives. Hopefully I am wrong.
