I Love Cross Roads!! My son has been going there since K and now is going to the 5th. This school reminds and forces parents to be responsible for teaching there kids even when there not in school. And that it's all a team effort, to make these kids well rounded.

I love this school and the church!!! When my daughter and I were struggling, due to loss of my job, the church stepped in and not only brought us food but made sure my daughter got to celebrate Christmas. All of the staff shows what it means to be a Christian organization. And my daughter has received an excellent education. I have found that the changes that have been made have enhanced the program.

Too much change in the past several years, not for the better. The school office staff is great, but the same can't be said for the church office staff, that seem to have control of the school and everything that is done.

We chose CrossRoad as an alternative to the poor schools in Gardena. It started out as a 4-star school, but due to lack of leadership has dropped considerably--4 principals in the last 8 years. One of whom was very disrespectful to the hard-working, low paid teachers. There was a mass exodus of teachers and good students. Things are back on the rise a bit due to changes in curriculum two years ago. There are some good, even great teachers, but overall program is average. Christian approach is good. Not enough programs for high achieving students. Would recommend for good students who want a Christian environment.

I choose this school for my child, hoping to provide the best education. I was very disappointed that not only felt as if I was just wasting my money away, the oldest faculty was always negative, judgemental, and very ill mannered towards children. This school would not last long time. If I knew the truth about this school, I would have never chosen this school for my child.

My granddaughter started in the pre-school and graduated from 8th grade at CrossRoad. The friendships she made with both students and staff continue today and are a source of strength for her. Very loving, caring, and strong academic environment that has served her well as she has grown. You can't go wrong putting your children in their hands.

I think it's a great school. My daughter has been there since pre school and is graduating from the 8th grade in June. The teachers are always available to speak to both children and parents either in person or via e-mail should there be any issues. Thank you Crossroad for helping her become the young lady tht she has turned out to be.

Crossroad Christian academy has been a great school for my son. I was honestly having a hard time deciding where to place my son in school as I did not prefer to have him in our public school district. I was relieved when I came in to crossroad to get more information. I was very impressed. My son attended first and now second grade at crossroad. I feel their academics is above what you would find in a public school setting. Their rates are affordable compared to other private schools in the area. The only cons would be the school only goes up to 8th grade. There is no grass only concrete and lunch at school is pricey $5/$6 per lunch (which is brought in from an outside vendor). Before and afterschool care rates are very reasonable as well. I love crossroad Christian for my son.

With the challenges our kids are going to be facing these days it is important to give them an excellent education along with good christian values that will prepare them spritually to be ready to face those challenges and reach their generation for Christ. I fully support CCA and I thank God everyday that my kids get to go where they are going to hear the word of God and get an excellent education.

We love CrossRoad Christian Academy!!! I have three kids, all of whom attend this school. My oldest is in the 8th grade and has been here since he was 3 years old. My middle child is in the 2nd grade and has also been here since he was 3. Now my youngest is 3 and is attending the pre-school. The teachers at the academy are amazing in both teaching of academics as well as nurturing Christian character. They use Saxon Math and Shirley English as part of their curriculum which have shown outstanding results for our students and increased test scores tremendously! Our graduates attend many local private high schools and pass the entrance exams with flying colors. Additionally, for those going on to public high schools, many test into AP courses with no problem. I've seen amazing social growth in my kids that can only be attributed to the fantastic quality of education at CrossRoad Christian Academy!

I attended CCA since Pre K until I graduated from the 8th grade, it was an awesome school to attend when I was younger. However, over the years the school has deteriorated. They do not have a steady principal, not enough enrollment or teachers to teach the classes and give their undivded attention to the kids. There is constantly issues with the employees as well as the pastor of this church with member of the church. How are they suppose to set an example to our children when they aren't good examples theirselves? I will never recommend or send my children there.

This is my son's first year at CCA and so far, I have been very pleased with the curriculum. The teacher is a great motivator and encourages the success of each student. It was a difficult decision to change schools after four years but I am confident that I made the right decision.

Our first son attended CCA appx ten years ago and we currently have another enrolled. With our first son, CCA provided a superb foundation in which he has and continues to excell in his education. We definately are pleased with the current settings that CCA is providing at this time. Our current son attending is doing awesome and the curriculum is on target for our expectations. Also just as important as the academics, CCA provides such a positive and loving environment that it truly has and continues to have an impact on our sons.

I agree with the one on the bottom, overpriced books and uniforms. Especially for those moving on to middle school that they're parents have to pay too much money for one year only. Lower prices!!

Like everything else these days, CCA is becoming overpriced with little quality. The cost of tuition, uniforms, sports activities, cafeteria and books is going up tremendously in the coming school semester (2008-2009). Be ready to pay out a lot of money for the high-priced administrator, ill-mannered office staff, and self-absorbed teachers that do not really care about the students there. Many parents are removing their children from this school in search of a more cohesive atmosphere.

Wow. I cannot believe some of the things that I am reading. True, this place has gone through hard times in recent past, but I couldn't be more pleased with the direction that its going. The new principal is AWESOME and in just one year that he's been there I have seen this school already increase academically and administratively. Like another parent whose comment I read, my child has been going here since kindergarten and he's now in 5th grade, and I couldn't be more pleased with his progress. Rather than tearing this school down, we need to be blessing them with our prayers and with our words.

I started as a CCA parent in 1998. I've witnessed many changes. Through my own personal experiences, I have found that the teaching staff has gone over and beyond what is required the to meet the needs of the students. I have two children, one of which is now a freshman in high school. Both of my children have been and still are exceptional students due in part to the teaching staff at CCA. What I find distressing is the lack of parent involvement. The PTF staff for 2007-08 is outstanding yet hardly any parents are in attendance at the monthly meeting. In order to invoke change and be taken seriously you first have to take a stand. Get involved and give the new administration a chance.

This school has really gone down. My child has been here since kindergarten and is now in the 5th grade. I feel that the school doesn't care about the kids since the demographics have changed to a certain population. I'm pulling my child out as soon as possible. because I feel that she will not be prepared for the challenge of middle school! If you love your child, don't send them here!

My kids both attended this school, in the beginning our family found it to be a decent school. Within the last two years, especially 2007, everything has deteriorated. The parents no longer have a say in the fundamentials of the cirriculum or anything for that matter.

My daughter is in her 2nd year of attending the daycare/preschool section of the Academy and I couldn't be happier. Every place is different, but it is important to evaluate severa things like childhood happiness, involvement, curriculum and motivation. This school has them all. A loving environment, rules to follow, prayer, appreciation, play time, learning time, wonderful gymnastics and music programs offered on site, theme days as well as theme weeks and parent involvement days. The early years section of the school seems to be solid, albeit some turnaround of staff this year, and the staff is very approachable and friendly.

CrossRoad Christian Academy has built a strong foundation for thier school this upcoming year in faculty and curriculum. I am confident of incoming and returning faculty as their integrity and education far surpasses expectations of elementary school teachers. CrossRoad Christian Academy's goals this year are to first build Christian character, second, to endeavor Academic Excellence, and to educate students on health and physical education. CrossRoad Christian Academy is dedicated to providing students with a Christian education that will build a foundation of morals, work ethic, and commitment. By their new mission statement alone, we should all be confident in CrossRoad's ability to educate, encourage, and build leaders of your children.

CrossRoad has changed drastically over the last several years. The school up-keep and condition has deteriorated. Huge staff turnover, including two principals in the last two years is not a good sign. It's sad to see what the school has become. Much prayer needed.

I love this school! My son has been attending for about a year now and he has learned so much during this time. I truly feel all of the faculty have great intentions and are very caring with all of the children. My sons days are well structured with play time and learning time, they have many different themed days, including 'rainy day'. I also feel that the faculty truly cares about my son as they have taken the time to advise me about potty training and various other issues they felt needed to be addressed. They have wonderful meals for the kids, and breakfast is offered daily. All in all a wonderful nurturing place to send your children.

I like the preschool program because it is ethnically diversified. The school has had little turnover in staff and I am happy with the pre-k teacher who provides a balance of academic, arts and social development. Other enrichment programs that are offered include gymnastics, music and piano. It is great that these activities are offered on campus.

This pertains to the preschool, Crossroads (formerly Calvary). While at first look, the environment looks really nice and clean and friendly, to my dismay, there were many undisciplined kids. They continually disrupted class so that my daughter could not learn. The teachers and administrators of the preschool, in my opinion, need stricter discipline. Time outs don't cut the mustard. When the children are hitting each other or continually mouthing off, they need to be sent to the principals office and/or their parents need to pick them up immediately. Therefore, I will not be sending my daughter to the Crossroads (formerly Calvary) elementary school. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the preschool program.

February 09, 2006
The academic programs for the elementary school are pretty basic, nothing challenging. The teachers aren't motivated to do more than the general areas of study. Middle school is a bit more challenging. Their extracurricular activities need help, especially the sports. At time they depend on the parents to coach.Overall environment is strict at times it can be overbearing to the active child.

Calvary has changed its name to Crossroad Christian Academy. My only complaint is too many early dismisal's and not enought extra activities for the younger grades. Also, being a private school, there are a lot of fundraisers, but I do not see where the money is going.

November 08, 2005
Overall the quality has declined. You really have to choose your child's teacher wisely. Unfortanatley there are some poor communicator/relator teachers mixed with the extremely good instructors. Great extracurricular activities, great christmas program, clean environment. Think it's time for a change in Administrators at the top to get some great new ideas, and put the quality of education back into the school that use to be there. Think the administrators who remain in one position for so long get too comfortable, and take parents point of views etc for granted. Parents are the customers, and should always be treated as such.

This is a private school that offers several extras for all kids in all grades, from music, to computers to a library. No to mention the love of Christ taught each and every day. Parents are involved in the school and their children. They are further ahead than the local schools and help each childs individual needs.

My 1st daughter started in 1995, and I thought the school was great. Toward the end of her time there, I noticed changes. The academic level isn't up to par with some of the top districts. She wasn't prepared for the next level. Seems like more of the 'bad' kids are being admitted. There are several kids who have transfered from school to school, probably because they are troublemakers.

My son has attended for over 7 years, very good teacher interaction, parents are very active in school activities. Great support staff, who are like family now. I cannot say enough about the wonderful, friendly, helpful, caring staff of administrators, teachers, aides and ELAR. I feel that CCA provides a safe, secure, loving atmosphere for learning and gives the children a one on one relationship with God. The current music program really uplifts the children, the Christmas program each year is really an event to look forward to and enjoy the progress the children have made in music. The science fairs are exceptional, I really feel they are on a high school level. Each year I marvel at the effort and creativity put into their projects. CCA still includes field trips for the children which are much anticipated events for them. Highly recommend this school.
