Louigi Aprea has the best teachers, they deserve the award because I know the children will benefit big. This school could use the money.
Love the principal and the teachers at Luigi. The closest thing to a private school without the cost. My son loves his school and it really is a community!
Fantastic teachers and staff! They are committed to seeing that our children get the best education possible. Our test scores are consistently high because our students study hard all year long to achieve these high scores. What makes our school truly awesome, is the parents who volunteer their time to help in the classrooms, serve on committees, fundraise, and so much more. Luigi Aprea is the best because teachers, staff, students and parents all work together towards one common goal . . . . an excellent education.
I think the school is one of the best my children have been to. I have a one child that has been there for six years now and getting ready to move on to Jr. high school. She has accelerated year after year and does extremely well. She has always been pushed to take on more and encouraged along the way both at school and at home. I feel differently about the testing issue - I don't feel that is what the school is concerned about. The kids are happy not stressed and always willing to take on more. I also have a 1st grader that struggled in K - and with the assistance of the teacher we agreed to have him do K over. This has made him a much stronger 1st grader and he is looking forward to next year. Thank you Lugi Aprea Staff!
the focus is on test scores not the children themselves.
Pros: Great Academics, Great Teachers, Great Parent Involvement. Cons: Not too many extracurricular activies.
This School is great if your child is on the right track and can keep up with its fast pace. If your child has a two home environment this school is not very good at keeping the parent who child is not living with informed.
This is a good school, but mainly because Gilroy has switched to neighborhood schools and the parents in this area are more affluent than other parts of Gilroy. This school gets a lot of hype because the test scores are high but it's because there are few ESL strudents. Basically, it's a CA public school that has the same standards as all the other schools. It's a good school, but I think it's over hyped.
Luigi Aprea is academically rigorous, the children gain tons of knowledge.
Luigi Aprea is a wonderful school. Perfect test scores are always great to have, but student performance is not always based on test scores. Walking around campus, I have observed students interacting cooperatively, listening to a guest speaker, learning to write paragraphs (1st grade!) etc. There is more at Luigi than just high test scores. The one area of improvement would be the grading policy. It does need to be consistent across the District. Hopefully, this can be resolved soon. Sincerely Parent & Educator
