Its a very great school with high rating of teachers.Principal is very high level, very welcome and very responsible person. My older son is there and i took my younger to that school as well. Teachers are very developed, organized and very friendly as with students as with parents.I will rate 10 out of 10 for sure.
The staff is so great my children love them! They have an extremly well rounded curriculum my children have been given the edge they need because of Horace Mann.
I along with my two children attended Mann. Most teachers love their profession and the current principal is very enthusiastic about helping children do their best. All in all, I have been very satisfied with this school. Academics is the main focus. Music offered and now their is even an after school sports program for those wanting to attend.
Good public school. All of our four children went to Horace Mann and the results are not dissatisfying at all. The teachers (most of them, anyway) are committed and knowledgeable. Music program definitely prepared our older children for middle school band and orchestra. No competitive sports activities.
Academics are OK. Some children obviously slower than others due to language problem. Music class available.
My children go to this school and they say it is horrible.
The program in the school is genreally fair. I feel as a parent that more homework is needed as I don't see my child being challenged academically. They have music class which is really good for the children. There are also some extra after school activities that help supplement the children develop social skills (more needed). I feel that the school needs to improve the frequency in performing tests to classify and determine the student's improvement to provide them with better challenges. A big factor in the slower rise in API would be the cultural background of the student population which are mostly Armenian and Hispanic. As English is usually their second language at home and in a lot of cases, the parents are not fluent in English. I personally feel that there is a lot of room for improvement for this school and would not recommend it in general.
